whats everyone's thoughts on having your name in your business name?

When I originally started I did this (Coleman Clifford Carpet Cleaning). I'm thinking moving forward I should change it to something that doesn't involve my name. What are your thoughts? My current clients would still just call, text, or email me- so I don't think there would be any confusion. I don't have a huge web presence that would get messed up by making a change. I'm currently a 1 man show- heavy residential, but as I grow commercially and if I start in restoration I feel like a different name would sound more legit.

    What do you think?

    Coleman Clifford?
As sierra said Coleman carpet care
    or Clifford all cleaning solutions,kkk
    or clifford your fabric specialist
make some money locally , build a custumer base , than change your name , NOT YOUR NUMBER , and call all your custumers and et then let then know that your business is growing and changed name , they will love that you called personally , don't waist too much time on this stuff now ,
by the way both of yours names sounds great , lucky you, lol

Haha it's way overkill on the "C"s. I was using it doing side work years ago but then it kind of stuck. I don't want clients in the future always looking for me persoanlly because of the name.

I've thought about that too since I use my name in the company name but I'm often surprised how many people ask my name thinking I may just be an employee. I think you will be just fine with your current name.

Oh I would never change my phone #.

I'm pretty established but every one of my clients knows me regardless of the business name.

I think it would be easier to sell your business when your are ready to retire if your name is not In the business.

Although I'm not super concerned about that right now it's a good point. I also want to expand to restoration and think I might want to change to a name that's more inclusive.

If you don't like the name then change it. I personally wouldn't put my name as part of a business name, at least not first and last.

I worked for a company that had 6 CC vans, janitorial crews and mold/asbestos crew... about 30 employees. The company name was the owners name but it became a brand and not related to him anymore so I think it will be fine to stick with your name

I would keep your name. You can shorten it like C. Clifford but the most important thing is that your brand is synonymous with quality. It's not the name that makes the service- it's the service that makes the name.
