I have received many calls from Yelp. Today I got another. I spent about 20 minutes talking to the guy.

Have you used Yelp? Thoughts? Experiences?

They have a price for upgraded listing then a price for PPC advertising.

Again, thoughts? Experiences?

My experience is stick to the free listing and use it to the best of your ability. I didn't pay for advertising for more than a month. I can't speak for the quality that the advertising may or may not get you but Yelp as a company is very shady and I don't trust them. I get a call from them every 2 to 3 months from a new rep in my area. I have to say no to each rep at least six different times before they'll stop calling me and then eventually the cycle starts again with a new rep. it's very frustrating

did a six month contract the only calls I got were hundreds of telemarketers. Then they'll try and pull a stunt and auto renew no matter what you do or say to get an extra month or two. Use the free service if you must stay away from the pay service, they also use a redirected phone number that isnt yours that will mess up your seo. The come on like sugar and turn to shit as soon as you sign on the dotted line.

I get 99% of my customers from yelp, tried advertising with them for just over a month, canceled contract, paid 700 cancellation fee, complete BS company. As stated above use free listing for all it is worth, if you advertise with them expect twice the sales calls.

Exactly my experience. I cancelled after a month and went to the better business bureau. They got me cancelled and no cancellation fee. But I think it only happened because I told my credit card to block their charge (I attempted to rescind the contract the next day which I have the right to do)

I get the calls from them all the time, especially when I get a new review on there.

Thanks for the input fellas. Very helpful.
Last week I went a few rounds with a yelp "agent", called all panicky because they couldnt process a payment and when I went on to explain my contract was up she went on the offense about auto renew unless contacted blah blah. I explained I had called my rep only to be ignored and had she answered my calls like the contract states they're supposed to we wouldnt be having this conversation. She of course got nasty and I told her "sue me" and "we'll see you in court". Course they wont sue me and I might even give my Sec of State a call this week ,,,,he hates this kind of stuff. Yelp can sick my duck,,,,,or something like that.

Very few calls, i ended up in the negative. If i had 6 months-1 year of payments to gamble it might be ok...In the begining 2 different ad specialist told me i had everything correct then when i say im goin to cancel a different guy tells me i should make changes. Feels like they are not on the same page. Wish i hadnt wasted my money but i know now
