That is old. Have you checked it out? Does it run decent? How bad can it be for 3k. I would ask the seller to show you how it works on a job or two. Get a little free experience with the deal.

Well he’s had it for a while I was looking at it about a year ago turned it down cause it didn’t have a freshwater tank. Guess he put one in. Van runs good But is old. Didn’t get to see the steam genie run for for than 2 minutes but it did turn on

Hey if the van runs well and the machine runs well, then I think it's a great buy. I bought one of those trucks back in 2011 and I ran for about 5 years with it. I actually still own it. Those old fords are so smooth and fun to drive around in. And mine was really reliable. Test drive the van, test out the machine and if it all works, I'd buy it for sure!

When you get it home, clean the hell out of it top to bottom. Then, paint the hose reel and buy 100 feet of brand new vacuum hose (even if the old stuff is still good) to go in the home. Same with solution. Clean the machine and consider repainting the front panel. Wouldn't take long at all. Give the machine a nice tune up and change all fluids in the machine and van and you'll be good to go.

What would you recommend for the tune up? I used to rent out a van and mount form a guy so he would take care of all the maintenance wa paying him $800 a month. I want something own with no payments. Plus would only be part time

Well I'm not sure what engine that machine has but new spark plugs for sure. If it has points ignition I'd replace those, make sure the belts are in good shape and tight, change oil in engine, pressure pump and blower, same for the van.

Do you have your own business yet? How much total do you have to spend?
I had my own business, registered with the city and all. But like I said I used to rent out a van and mount but lease ended and guy sold it. I did pretty well considering my first time. I have only about $3000 maybe $3500 know it’s not much. I’m a college student doing a clinical rotation so I’m working for free right now. Want my business to start up again

I say dump the college and go full bore in the business but that's just me. Especially headed right into spring right now... couldn't ask for a better time to start. I started out in the beginning of January 2011 and it was tough for sure

It’s a good buy if you don’t use it everyday. 2-3 times a week traveling and cleaning are good enough for this truck but you need to prepare yourself for truck and machine breakdown, maybe after a year or so.If you use it everyday, it’s not a good buy because it will be a headache and you will be spending more than what it’s worth. if you have jobs to cover those mechanical issues, you will be fine based on my experienced.

i usually dont recomnend this but..consider...
getting a used portable and a 175.....
use robs chems and you will be fine partime for rentals and homes......

reason guys are saying beware of used TM is because no one around you may know how to fix it....
all those TM are diferent and some can be extremely complicated and costly to fix.....
