These are money jobs !! I love it when I have 3 of these a day then I know ill be hitting the 1500-2k range in money that day.
we have about 8 bad ones on the books already for next week

To me the people never vacced, never cleaned, spilled and didn't even care to clean it up, let their dog just piss and shit and they left it. Usually when its so gross they cant stand or they are having company, then they call the carpet cleaners to come clean up their messes.
Lol, this is true, but they were moving out, so she was surprised about how it looked, they have cats. It was only 2 rooms, did it a little under 2 hours, treated, scrubbed, HWE, urine treatment for yellow stains $300, and was being nice. Looks better, crap was nasty!
And people think cats are cleaner than dogs...Cats!!, and the last time it was cleaned was only 8 years ago!

damn good job, I know that kind of carpet very well,, its harder to clean than people think,,,, you totally saved it from the scrape heap.Cats!!

I agree, I hate that we have to clean it unstretched because people are cheap or don't feel it needs it.
If its already clean why would anyone need us to clean it?
people who maintain their carpet are happy to clean their carpets and pay well to prevent that mess.

I would have turned it down and recommended they replace it unless they wanted me to clean and sanitize it before pulling it up. I won't lie, if the price is right I'll tackle some difficult jobs. One because it's a great opportunity to practice your craft without liability issues. That can pay dividends forever, you can attend every class out there but experience is what counts. Two, you can make money and do right by the customer. Like previously mentioned the carpet needed a stretch and would likely have odor concerns long after you've been paid. Three, someone will have to remove the carpet and pad. They will certainly charge a premium price if you present the carpet like this.
I could clean up and make it far more presentable and sanitized for my usual rate. A bunch of the jobs end up being salvageable but I would need to charge extra for obvious reasons It's honest and lets the customer decide without you being the bad guy or having lost a customer because they still couldn't sell it or rent it. Your effort was superb and results were amazing but they should still rip it and replace it.
