Will Red pads give the same results as Fiber Plus pads?

I use a 175 machine to encap for now and I was wondering if using red pads will give me similar results to fiber plus pads when encapping cgd carpet.

Yes we use them from time to time, works great. Use 3M

I thought white pads were the equivalent of the tan FP pads.

Red pads will be more aggressive. This may be OK sometimes, but make sure the carpet can withstand greater agitation.

IMHO they are too agressive for most commercial carpet. If you use them apply more encap juice to keep the pad well lubricated.

I have customers who have used 3M red exclusively for 5+ years on all their commercial jobs.
White pads are no good for encap....might be ok if you're going to extract after and just use the roto for a light scrub.

So did I? Just to be safe, use 3m or higher end red pads from, your supply house. To be safe, I just use a carpet brush and/or green stripe bonnet pads for agitation.

I have a brand new box of fiber pads that I have not tried yet, so I can't really comment on them?

I use fiber pads also, but I've used red pads with my orbot
on the nasty GD and man it worked great!! I also agree to
by good pads

Having only used VCT pads on tile and not carpet, how long will they last? How will you know when you've gotten the useful life out of one? Obviously you have both sides, but when is one side no longer effective?
