Hello all
My Prochem truck mount makes this high pitch whistling noise when I warm it up before a job but when I place something in the air intake like a bottle or something to block the airflow it stops
Anyone know what causing this when I’m at full speed it stops.

When you say air intake do you mean air filter or vacuum port?

Vacuum inlet sorry for not being more precise yes the vacuum inlet when I put my hand over it it stops. Actually when it’s running full speed it does it too until I attach the vac hose

What is your HG set at?
Waste tank lid on straight?
Waste tank outlet open slightly?
How's your waste tank gasket?
Vacuum relief clear?

I agree with Rob, make sure something isn’t stuck in the vacuum intake and lid is not leaking air somewhere. Secondary filters inside tank clean and clear also? Could be a cracked coupler by the blower... I had to change that recently because my was cracked and whistling also

I have check everything I can check it only makes the noise when I power up It did it when I first bought it. But when I place something that partial blocks the air intake it stops. Very frustrating and noisey at customer jobs.

Whistle means air loss. Going to have to track it down to fix or eliminate it.

You have an air leak. Trace it.

If it is a whistling sound and you can you can put your thumb in the vac port and it stops. Leave it alone I have worked on units for yrs doing this, it has something to do with the air flow coming into the vacuum port. Any small changes in the air flow and it stops. When I preheat a unit I use a funnel that has about a 1/2" opening and that will mimicke the wand on the floor. And the sound will stops.

I had the same problem on my unit. I took the hose off that goes from the vacuum port to waste tank. Turns out the hose inside had collapsed blocking the hose partially, hence the whistling sound. Replaced the hose for around $200, it worked fine after that.

Could it be some kind of exhaust leak , a pin hole in the silencer , a tank lid gasket no sealing properly ?
Maybe something big your missing, best to get it figured out before some crashes.
