Good luck Rob. I was thinking salvage yard since thread title said cheap. But if you want new I never heard of a cheap motor.
Try finding a competitors truck with the same motor and visit them one night

If by new you mean another working engine you could get one at a junkyard that runs great for less than $200, if you and your guys can do the work yourself.

If you're having a shop put it in, they're usually going to want to only use their parts. Shops don't like when you try to use your own parts for a repair. (Another reason I don't use them)

If you want brand new, http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-10067353...ts=Make:Chevrolet&hash=item27e134d252&vxp=mtr or similar would be a good option. Free shipping too. Check locally you may be able to get it faster.

Jasper engines are remanufactured... and the 3 year/36k mile warranty doesn't compare to the brand new engine's 3 year/100k mile warranty, not to mention it is hundreds of dollars less, and brand new. I'm seeing them around for even less than that original link I posted including shipping.

Jasper remanufactured engines are going to be the best bet for engines that are no longer in production. The GM 5.7 liter engine is still in production, at a lower cost in this situation.

Rob we have a 1999 Isuzu Trooper with a V6 in it. Has about 180,000 miles on it.
It has always used oil. I think that is there nature. Anyway other than that they
just keep on going. I realize your engine is not any good . Too me if you can get an
engine for your Isuzu Box truck for $2300.00 with the warranty posted above I would
go for it. That is not very much really for that motor.

Rob-

Didn't you see the E-Bay link that Kevin posted?

You can get a brand new Chevy 350, with free shipping for $1875.94.

Why would you pay $2300 for a rebuilt Jasper?

That's what I have the 5.7. So you think a new motor is cheaper?
