I hate cleaning windows I'd rather take a good ass kicking than clean windows.:p I'd certainly pass them on as well with no recip required:D. My most profitable service by far is stain removals and or spot dye. Quite often if I can get the stain to at least lighten somewhat I can use spot dye to finish off. I make more carpet cleaning but I get pretty silly money with color repair if we are talking time and materials.

But, I think that profit sharing would be SO MUCH easier and less costly than giving them commission on Every upsell. What's your opinion?

Commission/profit share are similar in theory, but profit share could be manipulated. If the company pays out for more equipment and stuff for the biz, then less profit to share. So in effect it could work out to not be any profit.
Sorry, Matt, but I agree with Torrey. The "net profit" of a company is too big and too vague for a tech to directly affect. Plus it leads to suspicion and worse when the owner drives his richly deserved new Mercedes SL into the parking lot as in, "Hey, did part of my profit sharing pay for THAT?"

As you know, I wanted to give my employees Immediate Gratification rewards based on meeting short term objectives. That's why I like the Employee Efficiency Bonus. :)

PS To answer the original thread question "reapplying" carpet protector is a huge money maker. However, I really like offering to restore their concrete garage floor while you are there any way. 20-30 minutes, $75.00 to $125.00 and your hoses are already run!

My wife's boss at The Pharmacy she works at does profit sharing. She hasn't complained once about it and she's just a pharmacy tech, not a licenced pharmacist, so she doesn't make the big bucks. Her Boss (owner) plays golf almost every day of the week also. I don't know the exact percentage of the profit she gets, but there hasn't been any complaints

That's where I get my reasoning on this matter

Nice. But Tilemaster would have cleaned it the first time and in no time with 1/2 the PSI.

Dollar for dollar I'd say pest control followed by water damage. Costs about 2 dollars in chems, takes 15 mins to apply and charge 150.00. Water damage varies.
Rob is correct. My record for annuals was 24 in a day. At $125 a pop. We were done by 3. And I actually always crawled house. Or just do one new contract treatment for the same amount and be done before lunch. Could do more annuals if I just stuck a bill on the door and kicked the dirt around by the crawl space entrance. Like some got caught doing. 15 minutes at each house. drive time is only factor really.
Rob do they still allow spraying there on annuals? I heard some states have went to spray only if you find evidence of termites. Other than that you can only inspect.

i honestly never thought of doing pest control as an addon service that is the bees knees rob count me in. what certifications are needed to do it?
You need a degree in entomology or work for someone with a operators licence for 2 to 3 years while holding a applicators license. I had this from Missouri but they wouldn't transfer to Louisiana so I couldn't get one here. Some states are transferable though. Because some require classes (sit and listen to a speaker) worth points every year. Some don't. I went to classes in another state even though it wasn't required. My knowledge means/worth nothing here unless I start over. Sucks cause I was pretty good. Not to toot my horn but I was involved in all sectors of pest control. We got paid to check sticky boards at many places using a telescopic pole so you don't even have to bend over. Since there's no connection here to the company I worked for. I will say we pushed close to 300k yearly. Two guys and his wife took care of office. One guy (me) alone more than half the time. He would only come with me for annuals. This was at most the first two weeks of the month. 10 months a year. Other than that I worked alone and no overtime. 8 hour days. So I would say it is very profitable, but harder to get into than anything we do as far as cleaning.
For me Pet accidents ($125 per room sometimes) and Tile grout. Since we have fast tile cleaning set up.

Bob there is a little trick that can be done. On the yearly renewals I just sit them down and say this. The product we use for ants and roaches is Termidor. Termidor is the number one product used for termites. So basically you are getting a termite booster. And we do this for free with your. 150.00 year renewel. Works well.

You are retrenching with Termidor on each renewal/inspection?
