$ for time is hardwood cleaning no doubt. I need to figure out how to do more. I just did one yesterday. I cleaned the tile while my helper cleaned the hardwood. $ 275 for the hardwood job and it took my helper about 45 minutes.
Tell me more about hardwood cleaning...

Like many things, it looks good on paper but who knows. I have no experience in that realm yet.

Commission/profit share are similar in theory, but profit share could be manipulated. If the company pays out for more equipment and stuff for the biz, then less profit to share. So in effect it could work out to not be any profit.

Right now I only pay hourly wages. I'll figure the rest out once I have guys out on their own.

Or... If you're an honest employer, just look at the profit before the more equipment and stuff for the biz to do the profit sharing. That might be a question to ask a CPA

What's honest to us and a employee will differ greatly. Lol

Ask me how I know..

In 2006 I was told we weren't getting bonuses, yet my boss had just bought is new Ferrari 360 spider along with his new multi million dollar home and a few big toys.

yep!! when I cooked in logging camp my boss asks can I cut the food bill back and said "give them hamburger" I felt like telling him to stop burning so much chopper fuel to fly out here when you don't need to be here! the next month him and his brother bought brand new $65,000 diesel pickups! give me a friggin break!!

That's a whole different level. Was your boss the owner, or a manager over ya'll? If he wasn't the owner, yes, you were getting ripped off.

He was the owner and bad micro manager.

Just sayin, as an employee I felt ripped off. Doesn't mean he was dishonest though. It's just business and I wanted to control mine instead of wondering what was truth.

Hardwood cleaning that I do involves bona cleaner and a loopy bonnet/175 combo or simply bona and a flat mop. It's awesome because my helper can knock the whole thing out by himself while I do something else. Great time leveraging.

What Makes your eyes turn to $$? as carpet cleaners we have the edge over specific service guys because we have the ability to offer so many services that there is never not a way to make extra money in residential or commercial Jobs. We are the jacks of all cleaning services but which service is frequently the most profitable endeavor?

I personally favor stone work over anything else I do but the profit may not truly compare to some of the other things I do. landing large stone restoration projects with huge profits is slim at best because it is a luxury service it is not something that people have to get done. Is the real profit in offering services that people require with frequency?

Commercial tile cleaning... Residential Tile Cleaning... Rental turn over carpet....

It's not fun, but grab a squeegy and a bucket of soapy water, and clean those windows after you clean their carpet.

I just did a window job today and grossed 200/hr. Granted, it was a higher price, because it was a higher risk job, using a ladder, but it was good money.
I think its ten times more fun then Carpet cleaning... And overhead costs are so low its stupid
