What Makes your eyes turn to $$? as carpet cleaners we have the edge over specific service guys because we have the ability to offer so many services that there is never not a way to make extra money in residential or commercial Jobs. We are the jacks of all cleaning services but which service is frequently the most profitable endeavor?

I personally favor stone work over anything else I do but the profit may not truly compare to some of the other things I do. landing large stone restoration projects with huge profits is slim at best because it is a luxury service it is not something that people have to get done. Is the real profit in offering services that people require with frequency?

Rat nasty residential carpets. Failed cleaning attempts represent my best margin because cheap is how the customer ended up with nasty. That means there is no onus on my to be cheap. Which means I can render enough services to ensure the result isn't nasty.

These jobs make the most money, get the most referrals and clear the way of any future notions of cheap cleanings being good investments.

Not that it matters but John works for Dirt Free. So I'm curious why he knows or cares about "profit" unless you he just means "personal income".
well torrey dirt free is vastly different then your average stanley steameresque company every technician has a stake in this company. i honestly do not understand your question though.. what does my poll have to do with dirt free? this was personal curiosity more then anything. but to answer your question dirt free techs run exactley as an owner operator would. we make the prices, and we keep track of our numbers..there seems to be some sort of stereotype on this forum that employees cant possibly care about their job or be businessmen...lol..

for me my most profitable service has to be carpet cleaning. pet damage treatment in specific. because it is fast easy and expensive. also frequency is high. it may not hit big numbers like airducts or stone but it is more frequent.

It's not fun, but grab a squeegy and a bucket of soapy water, and clean those windows after you clean their carpet.

I just did a window job today and grossed 200/hr. Granted, it was a higher price, because it was a higher risk job, using a ladder, but it was good money.

Dollar for dollar I'd say pest control followed by water damage. Costs about 2 dollars in chems, takes 15 mins to apply and charge 150.00. Water damage varies.
