Water filtration/deionization

Before we went to EMT we used to have a water softener and water pre-filter are truck
And honestly I kind of miss it.

I want to keep my mytee escape lite flexible so I would like to have something that would be easy to unload with the van I found this I was wondering if anybody else has thoughts thanks

My parents used one of those at all times on their RV and it made the water a lot better for drinking/showering so I think it would do a good job removing unwanted things from your water. I just recently added a water softener at my shop to fill the truck with.

That won't do much for removing hardness. Look for a Salt free water softener.

Well we used to use a water softener and have to regen it from time to time it went with the truck.
I will look into that one on Amazon

There is no such thing as salt free water softeners.
To remove water hardness there is only one method and that is ionic exchange which requires salt to regenerate.
The no salt systems add chemicals to the water to help prevent the hardness from sticking, but it's still there.
Just get an RV water softener.

Yeah I didn't think there was such thing as a salt-free softenerat least one that didn't need thrown out there's those citrus-based thingies lol.
I used to use an RV softener and my gas truck and I do miss it quite a bit. I'm hoping disposable cartridge style will satisfy me for a little bit till I find the RV style I want.

If anybody has a suggestion on which one to get please let me know.

I don't know of any small size inline water softener.
A filter will remove particles and debris but not water hardness.
If you want to protect your pump then use an inline strainer to catch debris and then periodically flush the system with descaler to remove hardness.
Heating the water is what really makes hardness build up quickly, so if you use customers hot faucet the build up will be less than heating cold water with your own heater.

That is correct. However the filter he posted does nothing but handle taste/odor/sediment. The closest thing he's going to find that is simple, light and easy to load and unload is the salt free one. Unless someone has come up with something else that is that size and meets his requirements. As long as it keeps the minerals in suspension they will get sucked right back out of the carpet.

So I did some research it uses carbon followed by kdf which removes many more minerals also through correspondence with the manufacturer it can be back flushed. But they don't have many instructions lol other than hook up a garden hose to the other side I'm excited to try it out I think it'll work out for me I mean shoot for 30 bucks a pop it's hard to beat. Toss it get a new one no big

I am however going to try to find a small standard water softener to have in the truck

If it works I would get one too. Please let us know. Our water goes from 7 to 9 grains per gallon depending on the time of year. I use a lot of chems just to deal with the hardness. Like you I don't want something that's cumbersome or permanently mounted.

Get some test strips if you don't have them already to see how well it works.

I should also add that I'm cheap, er um, thrifty and not going to spend 400 bucks on a system.

Yes I will get some more test strips. Haven't had any for quite some time lol
