I needed to replace my waste tank lid gasket

But ,was lazy and keep adjusting the pieces

Until I started to loose suction

No good

So I research here and saw a couple good ideas on how to replace the gasket


I went with the YOGA mat

Turn out great

I know I know it was dirty and how in the h!!! Did I run it like this

Cleaned

Well clean enough for adding glue

I did sand it after

First carefully removed old gasket

And trace in on card boards to make a”mold”

Got the card board mold done

And place it on top of the Yoga mat

Cut the Yoga mat from the mold

Cutting in the Yoga mat was a lot easier than cutting the cardboard mold

Used Red RTV high temperature
Gasket maker

Done fit perfect
On lid and tank

Note I did buy 15’ of gasket from my local supplier @Mama Fen



And camper weather stripping from Autozone

Don't for get to tell how long of time it runs under vac pressure, as in hours of run time.

Why didn't you just cut a full rectangular piece and put it on with contact cement.

Why is there gasket between every baffle?

I just use open cell foam strip with self-adhesive and applied the gasket to the tank top and not to the lid.

Took 10 minutes.

I just copied what was already on when I bout the Truckmount

But saw the same from a new unit at my local supplier

So you are saying to place the gasket on the tank itself

That is just how I recently did mine, gasket material on the tank itself.

I really don't think it makes any difference in performance.
