working for firestations is awesome

One of the rural stations I do wax for always has something fun for me to do while I wait for wax to dry. Last year they started a fire in the training tower and let me shoot the water canon that's mounted on the truck into it. Childhood dream fulfilled

I was called to bid on this job by White Sands but I passed because 2 prior companies had already been there and probably not paid for their work. The floor also had 5 to 6 coats of wax already on this, so stripping floor would have been very time consuming.

1k on materials? What all did you need? 6000 sq ft strip and wax I wouldn't have more than $300 in materials. Maybe $400 if they required more than 3 - 4 coats (that's my minimum)

Most of the stripping and waxing I do is in office buildings and a minimum of 500 to maybe 1000ft.²
Part of the 1K was $500 in rented Equipment that included delivery to this site because I don't own but one of each 175 and wet vac and a high speed burnisher

Next time, ask for a 30% upfront for acquisition of consumables, mobilization and demobilization of the working crew and similar expenses. Not refundable of course. they either turn you down immediately or accept. I have been sent to hell like a million times but when I get hired, I make good money on those waxing government jobs. I have two on call janitors with tons of experience on this waxing thing. I pay them double what their employer pays them or by the contract. They always seem to appreciate working for us.
