Isn't this similar to mustard?
who knows if there is anything out there to successfully remove turmeric stains. and can tell me where to get it. I don't have a UV strong enough nor I wanna spend all day waiting for the light to work. Has anyone know if anyone has come out with a product for this stains that really works?

according to my research, lemon juice with 30 minute dwell will break down the chemicals in curry and allow you to clean it. Like any stain, the sooner you get it out the better the result will be. Since lemon juice would be acidic, I would imagine that an acid cleaner or rinse applied to the stain and allowed to dwell will do the same. Test it and see.

I ran into turmeric once, the customer dropped it on the carpet and then smeared it into the carpet. No color transfer on the rag after i tried many different spotters, no success. I didnt have any bridgepoint stain zone might have worked. Do you have any extra carpet to make a patch?

Hi Martin,

First off, what is the fiber?

Depending on that, I have found through the years, IF I get to be the first one to work on it, I have a fair chance to either remove it or make it look a lot better. I have also found that if someone has messed with it first, it usually does not come out.

Here is what I have found works some of the time. (Again, fiber content can make a lot of difference in the results). Using nylon as an example, that can be one of the fibers that can be hard to remove it from.

Mix Boost All with a Protein Spotter in a cup until you get a paste. Then apply the paste. It should be workable but not runny, remember, a paste.

Allow it to dwell on the stain for a reasonable period of time, it can be 10-20 minutes. Use of a white absorbent towel to gently agitate it NOT SCRUB. All you are trying to do is see if you get a transfer onto the towel. (you should have already done a dry crock test to see if it will move or not but I am sure you already know this).

If it moves, continue and vacuum it out. Repeat and the next time, put a towel over the paste and use a vapor steamer to heat the paste through the towel and see if you can draw it up into the towel. As long as you make progress, you can continue. You can also accelerate the paste by wetting it out a 'little' with more protein spotter (or ammonia as well).

I have had reasonable success with it, if I got to be first.

The paste is very aggressive and you can accelerate it to make it more so. The vapor allows it to accelerate it even more.

If you need to see an example of this process, let me know privately and I will share a video with you, if you would like to see it.

Hope the best for you. Of course, you can always cut it out and do a B.I.

SAA

I would be interested to do what Steve said.

I did just remove a mustard stain last month from nylon using StainZone and my UV light. I just used my UV flashlight. It took about 5 minutes per silver dollar sized spot. The light I have is real powerful, if you need to use it PM me and I'll send it down tomorrow.

Here's some pictures of the job I did. I used 2 lights. The smaller light is a $19 Amazon special, it did ok but took 20 minutes to do what the bigger one did in 5 minutes. In the second picture the wet spot above the pipe is after being treated (the stain is gone).

I tried this thanks to a thread @Johnny Bravo made a few months ago and @wandwizard did some testing using this procedure. This job was the first time I tried it. @SAA was a big part of that thread too.

I'm fairly new to doing repairs, I've been doing patches for about 3 years now and have only done a handful. Just curious, how much do you charge for a repair like this? The repair was abut 4 inches X 30 inches.
