Originally, Truck Mount Forum was started because my son and I were sold a $30k lemon by a truck mount manufacturer. Nobody, not the distributor, the manufacturer or even my son and I could fix it. We were banned from other forums for mentioning the issue. The downtime and the expenses to travel to get it repaired nearly bankrupted us.

There was nobody there to help or care. Finally, we went to see John the Truckmount Guru (RIP John you were a great man) and he dissected it and rebuilt it for us for very little and it's ran ever since. But then something happened. Letters- from all over the country, came pouring in saying they had similar problems- tales of faulty equipment, bankruptcy, abuse from those who held the reigns of this industry. It really got us thinking: What can we do??

My son has always been gifted with computer technology. I asked him if he could build a "better" forum, a place where cleaners could share ideas at, talk about issues they are having- a place where we could all just have a community of support. With all of his effort, he created TruckMountForums- and it has developed and grown into what it is today. We are the largest free cleaning industry "free speech" forum on the planet. One that has not been bought and controlled by the big guys.

Having such a thing doesn’t come without a price though, this is where the 85/15% rule comes into play that "famous" people run into. There will be 85% of people who love it, and then there will be 15% of those who want to tear it down. NO good deed goes unpunished by bad people- you could create the cure for cancer and there would still be that one person who asks you "why it took so long". You could be helping feed poor in Africa and some would say "feed your own country first". As the old adage goes, if everybody likes you then your probably doing it wrong. So we must be doing something right.

Regardless, this hasn’t stopped me from wanting to continue to help. To date, we have risen over 5k to help with water damage and equipment that had been stolen- When van and machines failed we raised over 10,000.00 on GoFundMe accounts to help cleaners nationwide, we have given out 25 new wands to those who needed them. We helped 5 local cleaners start their own company at no charge. We have supplied over 10k in chemicals, parts and tools to struggling cleaners nationwide. We have raised thousands for those who suffered in natural disasters.

We call and email cleaners who need help to this very day. We have challenged manufacturers and suppliers who sold duds and wouldn’t honor their warranties. In addition to the forum, our exclusive free app, Cleaner Designs and Clean Informer magazine, the largest FB presence and we have also supplied over 300 free instructional videos to help raise the industry bar. To top it off we recently just built a complete "hands on" training facility like none other in the industry.

We really love this industry. But we want to do more.

We are looking for your input. What can we do? Who needs help? Our mission is to take care of those who need it the most- that is where true success and happiness comes from, and it is what we seek. If you have ideas, post them. If you or someone you know is really struggling, message me privately and I will get the ball rolling to getting you back on your feet.

And I'd be remiss to think we did this alone. Without the likes of Kipp, Todd, Mike, Damon, Jose, Shane, Deron, Matt, Jason, Rob, Frank, Marlon, Ed, Grant, John, Danny, David, Larry, Kevin, Tiffany, Jeff and so many many more. I thank you!

PS: Don't take our word for it. TMF has over 5000 testimonials from cleaners all over the planet. So rather than blow our own horn or try to convince some who feel TMF has not made a difference to this day, here are 300 of the "testimonials". And if you would like to add a testimonial please feel free to do so. Lets keep this locomotive going and I'll continue to drive it like a bulldozer right through this industry turning it into an industry we can all be proud of. One that we can pass on top our lineage and they too say they are proud to be a cleaner!

I love it. TMF has been a great help to me and my business. I know we all get a locker room mentality at times, including myself, but I know when my back is to the wall there are many professionals here to help me. Same goes for me, I would give the shirt off my back to help a fellow cleaner.

Than you for making the forum.

I started my company 3 years ago with no cleaning experience at all, all i had was the brief training by the guy who sold me his old bobcat 3.5 truckmount. I had no idea what all of the components of the truckmount were? I had the TM, hoses and 2 jugs of chemicals (pre-spray and rinse).

Thanks to the forum and its members I regularly get: "the previous guy never did that" or "the carpet looked worse than this when we moved in 5 years ago", and the most important thing is that I am still learning new thing here every day.

Thank You again, I would not be here without the help of TMF

I'm currently going through the process of starting my company and found TMF by accident while surfing the web. I can say I no longer search Google for carpet cleaning questions, I come here. You guys have built a truely invaluable resource/community, I've had a phone conversation with free advice and have been offered equipment at no charge since joining. Not many places online offer the information and attract as many outstanding people.

In response to the post, I know you guys are currently working on training courses but that's what I'm looking.

Ordered a wand can't wait for it to show up. Making this initial investment and the anticipation of everything coming together is getting to be heavy lol. Ready to start cleaning.

As with any forum...it's only as good as the members and the content.
Just came from another carpet forum and hit 'most recent posts'
The posts were days apart...

Here , the most recent posts are literally minutes apart.
That's pretty big...

This seems right on the money to me.... Tmf is a brotherhood from the men behind the curtains to the Die hard daily regulars that come here to share their vast knowledge of the floor cleaning industry.... Even when I took a long break from tmf I still never went and joined another board and believe me I had guys pushing me to do so... I stay here because of the people.... Not just because these guys helped me get my own business started but because I like most of you A-holes.... TMF is #1 baby keep pushing forward.

I, have learned so much on this forum from Prosteam- , Kipp, Todd the cleaner, Six Figures and many more. These guys are so knowledgeable and always ready to help someone or call them a dumbass. Haha. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow my business and hopefully one day be the one to help out the next lost/confused carpet cleaner. Thanks Rob for this great and informative forum.

Thank you. And where are my manners? I added those guys and more to the OP. Without them TMF would not be what it is today!

Thanks Rob and all TMF supporters! There is no doubt in my mind that I use better machines, chemicals and techniques because of TMF. With this help I feel I'm one of the best Carpet, Tile and VCT cleaning companies in my area. Without all of you, I would be mediocre like much of my competition.

I bought a worn out old machine from a worn out old cleaner in July of 2014. He promised to train me on a few jobs and teach me to do carpet repairs but the day after I meet him at the DMV with the cash I couldn't ever get ahold of him again. I knew nothing. I barely even knew how to start my machine. I was so glad that I came across tmf because within a few weeks my machine started "popping" parts and I had no idea how to fix it and was losing money because I was down. I'm 4 hours away from the nearest service center. Anyhow in still very small, still milking the same worn out tm unit. I have to rent an upholstery tool every time I get a job because I can't afford to buy one. I'm still throwing my full size wand over my shoulder to do stairs (which hurts my shoulders) because I can't afford a stair tool. I just invested my tax returns into advertising under the hopes that "if you build it, they will come" hopefully that will bring in more calls so I can afford some upgrades. I'm really hoping to figure out a way to buy a portable for a couple reasons, mainly as a back up unit in case my tm breaks but also because it will open up more work for me like those cases where they want the door closed. Anyway, I'm glad I have a place you go for advice. Thanks tmf.

In all this cheerful hysteria, I would like to remind all TMF members who gets the most fine women. Sit down, Gerdy. Texas doesn't count (the females are too ornery there).

Seriously, Rob, I think we all are in your debt. Thanks.
