A few years back I coined the acronym CET. It stands for cordless extraction tools. I will base my discussion off that acronym. First off, atm no CET tool will out do a wand or especially a rotary in residential unless it’s CGD. CET’s (cordless extraction tool) were designed and work best on CGD. We’ve done side by side tests. Swivels clean better, dry faster and don’t need anywhere as much agitation.
A CET tool provides zero agitation or scrubbing ability. It’s mostly a rinsing tool. Therefore you must prevacuum well, machine pre agitate and do multiple passes to make it work.
Also it’s impossible in tight spaces or furnished homes. Plus it’s very heavy 3x’s weight Ti wand. Can you make it work? Sure. You can make a Rug Dr work but it’s ineffective and inefficient. Same with a zipper, Bonzer and CX in a home.
Now here is the kicker the Bonzer being smaller and especially now the Bentley Pro could change that dynamic some. The Bonzer still needs the agitation and is square shaped. The uniqueness of the MBP is three things, the head shape, the adjustable flow valve and the high flush capability of the jets without causing halo's or crop circles in the carpet. The Zipper spinner, which only comes in heavy and large 17" provides agitation by spinners but in many cut piles you will get halo's or crop circles. So its almost impossible to use in a small or occupied home. But more impossible is getting the crop circles out of a poly carpet. So all in all the MBP shows a lot of promise. My techs have the other tools mostly gathering dust, but the MBP they have been using on rugs. I used it on commercial and was shocked by its capability. My next tests will be in homes. My schedule is extremely busy but I plan on taking it out to 10 homes. I will report back in this thread and post my findings.
