I'm a relatively new person in the industry. Browsing the forums here helped me learn a lot.
I currently use a Powr-Flite PFX1070SP (Starter Package), which isn't the strongest. I clean for apartment complexes. I recently lost a property when someone with a truck mount arrived and completely dwarfed my results. So I'm looking for a truck mount and/or van to combo it.

Currently got in contact with this seller - https://neworleans.craigslist.org/cto/6174171600.html

    Any thoughts?

    Where should I look?

More importantly, what should I look for?

    Thanks!

Yes. Based amounts of carpets I clean on monthly basis, a TM would give a great ROI. It would pay for itself within 2-4 months. Not only that, but the only competitor with a TM in my area (the one I referenced) has a handful already and lives 50 miles away from where the property is. So this would be a great marketing point as all the property managers in my area wanted to have a TM to clean their units.

There is no Kohler 18 hp in a TM out there with 500 hrs.... I'm telling you. That hour meter has been replaced, disconnected, or just doesn't work.
& 195k miles on a work van that old??? Red flags everywhere IMO

Kohler has been using 22.5 hp engine for many years now

If you can pay off a 5k machine in 2 months you can pay off a 15k machine in 2 years. think seriously about this .

Don't buy that TM. You'll regret it. Moving to a TM from a portable is good thing. Moving from a portable to a TM that you don't even know what make or model it is much less get a picture of it? Run away from that one buddy.

You should be able to get great results even with a portable...may take longer but you should be able to get there. What chems are you using and what is your process?

That is a prime example of just because you get a truckmount doesnt make you better. I did a house today that was previous done with a truckmount. It took a long time to dry, was musty afterwards, and still looked dirty. I cleaned the living room, dining room, 18 stairs and 1 landing and got 3 buckets like whats in the picture. I used a portable. Dont be in a hurry to switch it can get the job done

He also mentioned that the PMs in his area want a company using a Truckmount. That could be the main factor.

Check out TCS Truckmounts. These guys are on the ball with a great product and customer service. Very reasonable prices. Talk to Will in sales. I actually bought a used Hotshot trailer with one of their TMs in it and they still couldn't be more helpful with all my questions.
