    Mr Krall,

I don't think more light aerobic exercise will change your body. Your job is a higher level of aerobic exercise than walking---and you get plenty of it.

Camacho, Jose and I went rounds on this a while back.

Camacho does lots of High intensity workouts.

My belief is your diet needs to change--just a little

and just a couple 30 minute high intensity workouts a week will significantly change your body.

Most people in the USA get 50% or more of our calories from liquids... Beer, Coke, juices. A solid move to water and a little drop in evening (right before bed) treats can make a huge difference.

    Mike Krall,

I believe the MMA exercises---kettlebells and lots of body movements all core oriented Rule....

Most people get way too many Carbs... especially in liquids.

You really think all that kettle ball, MMA , hitting a tire, awkward movements are a good form of excersise for the average Joe?...

    Mike---Not the punching...

But the rest of them yes..

Any exercise that challenges your balance and puts the stress from one side to the other is awesome.

Most of us get hurt because one part of our body is strong ---and the other part is weak.

Front of the body to rear of the body strength can be significantly different.

Not a fan of awkward excersise movements.
Main reason I workout is to avoid injury.
I don't even do free weights any more.

    Machines in all movements.
I even keep to drop sets so I don't have to utilize higher weights.
I like to stress my muscles in very controlled movements while keeping the risk of injury to my tendons at a minimum...
I used to go really heavy...
    455 on squat.
    365 on bench...
    All that bollocks...
Shoulders and lower back always hurt..
15 years later at 51, I'm in better shape and feel much better

Yes Mike you are a man of extremes---I agree with you also.. I also believe you do enough grapling and other complete body exercises that focusing on certain muscles with a machine is probably fine.

I like the awkward movements for the same reason you don't. To ward off injuries by building all the muscles in the chain of use. Core exercises..

I don't like the machines for the same reason you do. I don't want really strong beautiful biceps with weak connecting muscles that can be overloaded by the strength of the biceps.

Worst injury I've ever had came from an awkward movement.
This March , I was attempting a shin choke in a tourney and tore my knee ligament
Pic is a freeze frame of the video at the very moment it popped

I don't love lifting in the morning. It's just part of my daily routine to maintain my longevity and look halfway decent on the boat.
I do enjoy running the hill in the mornings but I only do that a couple times a week.

The only excersise that I truly love is training Jiu-jitsu.
    It's a total mind/body endeavor

I love jogging around the neighborhood early in the morning. It helps me to relax and calm myself.

I too agree that it will depend on your age and fitness goal. I recommend you to search for some kind of fitness guide. I was looking for some good exercise to lose weight and maintain my fitness then I came across a programme sportif guide which really helped me to manage my workouts to stay fit and healthy.

It depends on what way you are applying to loose weight. If you are looking for short term plan then implement hard diet plan and exercise regularly. Running is the best way to loose weight efficiently.
