Any suggestions for treating this stain on long side of rug. I included a picture of front and back and a closeup.
The way it looks I thought maybe it was rolled up and standing on edge that got wet.
Tried normal extraction cleaning and spotters and then a browning neutralizer applied to stain.
Not into cleaning specialty rugs but customer just wanted me to try.
I don't want to make it worse.

Thanks.

This should be done by a rug washer who has some experience. But, there are a couple of simple things you could try that will not harm the rug.

  1. Hand clean with a solution of Encapuclean O2. Mix it twice as strong as recommended on the label. Spray on lightly. Use some white cotton towels to work it in and wipe it off. Be gentle.
  2. Spray with an acid solution made from Fab-Set. Follow label directions. If you have access to Citric Acid powder, you can add 4 or 5 ounces of citric acid powder to each gallon fow ater and cut back on the Fab-Set.
  3. Clean with distilled water.
Rugs from Nepal do tend to have color issues.
