Some of you might remember from my Bane thread. Well we ended up walking away from the Bane and are looking more towards portables for our firs machine.

We have about $5,000 cash to spend and do not want to go past that for now. We are going to be doing more commercial and t&g (with some residential) until we can afford a full blown TM.

We have narrowed our search down to 4 machines and would like your opinions on these. Don't be shy let us know....please. Hoping to buy machine by next week.

Mytee M-12 -awesome machine and customer support!

Ninja 1200-least amount of $

Cross-American Recoil-3XPS---- can I do t&g? does it have heat?

Us King Cobra 1200- A little more $ but can probably swing it if it's really good.

Thanks in advance guys!

I like the Mytee M-12. I got to test one a month or so ago and was impressed. It has the PSI you'll want for T&G. Its the only one I've used, so you could consider this a biased opinion. I've read about the others, and the M-12 perked my interest to test one.

The customer service you'll receive from Mytee is top notch as well. I'm not saying this because hes(John) a member of this board. John and Nathan both have went out of their way to help on a few things, and got me answers quickly.

I heard a lot good things about the M-12 and Amercian Cross too. Ninja looks good, but they are using China Vac motors now in thier other models. They used lamb motors before and made great models.... I would not purchase anything don't use Lamb motors or Amercan made vacs. Mytee is a great stand by what they sell company. Great support and help always. For the money you have to spend you should get a nice set up.

Hi Floorguy,

I'll say from the beginning I will not be impartial on this one. The M12 has a 1200 psi pump for grout cleaning and a 250 psi with a 2000 watt heater for carpet cleaning. It is by far a more powerful machine than all the units you mentioned. And the price is much less than your target.
If you like a smaller machine with all of the features of an M12 (less the 250 psi and heat) you may like to consider the RL1200 by Mytee. This unit is only $3200.00 with a 25' hose and a Spinner. I think it also come with a carpet floor tool with glide. The pump on this unit is 50-1200 psi so it can be used to clean carpets also. When heat is needed just add an inline Mytee Hot Turbo heater. This is a new product and so it is not on our web site yet. PM me and I will email you a brochure. This is part of Mytee's new "Mytee Wise" Line. All of our units carry a lifetime warranty on the housing, 2 or 5 years on defects in workmanship or materials on the other components. This speaks to the quality of Mytee products. Hope this info helps you sort out things in your search.

Hi floor guy,

Now, i have my eclipse from cleancraft, it has originally 4 vacuum motors 2 stages, I am upgrading with 2 vacuum motors 3 stages, a total of 2 2 stages vacuums motors and 2 3 stages vacuums motors and replacing and some pipes and hoses, I am getting tons of powers, tons. I am replacing the internal hoses with a really strong hoses because the originals were getting crushed with the amount of suction.

HI John,

I have in my eclipse and my truckforce 500 psi originals pumps, but what i noticed the truckforce can give me 600 psi easy.

If I want to do tile and grout I use a electric pressure washer husky 2000 psi together it with the truckforce and i am fine.

POWER---PERFORMANCE---QUALITY and terrific after sale SERVICE is always most important in the selection of the right equipment. I will forgo any sales job because it is not necessary here.

All mentioned equipment above will clean a carpet........................just look for the BEST Industrial ONE that will do the "work for you" and not the other way around, from the lot and you should be very, very happy!

Very best in your venture;

Really taking a liking to the Recoil 3 XPS. Been doing a lot of research on this machine also.

Basically as of right now, it's down to the Mytee M-12 and CA Recoil 3 XPS. Both companies offer great customer service and really back there products. Both machines have pros and cons for us, so we will just have to think this one over a little more.:taz:

A couple of more questions for you guys.
Which machine (M-12/XPS) would be better suited for a Rotovac 360 for res./comm. carpet and tile?

What kind of heater do you guys recommend with the Recoil 3 XPS?

Would the XPS have enough PSI to do tile and grout?

I plan on calling Ed tomorrow, but just wanted to get your guys input as well. Thanks

Floorguy;

I thank you for your interest.

The answers to your questions would involve way too much typing here on the board. And, also, I personally do not think this board needs anymore sales promotional speel. Just the facts. I suggest that you contct myself at your convience and I will give you those along with the truest of the true experience(s) of other well known Pro's out there.

This one is easy.

The very best to all above;

Hi Ed,

I always enjoy hearing your comments. We're all interested in truth. And since this is a public forum perhaps you'd be willing to share your thoughts with the rest of us.

I know when we do this it exposes us to public scrutiny, but that is a good thing because it allows all to really hear the truth as opposed private propaganda. Not that you would be guilty of that, but none of us would want to give that impression. And if were giving just "facts" it doesn't have to be a lot of typing. Notice:

1) The M12

2) Mytee Turbo Hot

3) No

LOL, Just messing with you Ed.

John,

I had the mytee turbo before, I sold it, because i wasn't happy with the amount of heat i was getting. Now I have a 2 bucket heater and i get more heat for only $100
I really thing it will be good to do a test but captured in video, to see how much heat we can get from it.

Respectfully,

Jaime,

Thank you for your comments. I would be glad to do a test or comparison for the TMF. How do you think this should be done to satisfy all. Would you like Mytee to video the test and post it on the board? Could you provide your heaters and we will return them to you when the test is finished?

Perhaps you would have some realistic testing parameters that could govern the test? I think you have a great idea and I'm anxious to see the results myself.

By the way, what is the wattage of your heaters?

If you prefer maybe we could get an objective third party to conduct the test, say The Allens if they are agreeable.
I believe in being total open and honest and would look forward to such a comparison.

Actually, I think a side by side comparison of portable carpet cleaners would go a long way to dispel some of the misconception and mystery associated with them.
Perhaps there would be some interest among other manufacturers to participate in such a test? I'll await your response.

Thanks,

John
