Hey folks,
Lately I've been running into tile jobs where the grout is so soft that it flakes out by scratching it with a key (or even a fingernail). Big red flag as I'm concerned much of it would end up in my dump tank. It seems to be more prevalent in new construction jobs or newly remodeled kitchens. What's up with this stuff? Is it really just a poor mixing job, or a modern quick set grout? Do you guys approach these jobs with a different method or turn them down? I had a customer that the grout was so soft I ended up letting her borrow my tile brush and she scraped off the dirty layer herself in a matter of minutes.
