Hey guys!

So I got asked to post an article about technical aspects of SEO.

These are the little parts that, when done together, improve the overall performance of your website.

All of these are ranking factors on Google. They are not the biggest like, for example, content, backlinks, and engagement are but they'll certainly help.

Here's what I'll go over:
  1. Security
  2. Loading Time
  3. Responsiveness

Of course, there are more but these three are the most important.

1. Security

Having a secure website connection - HTTPS - is not only important for SEO but for the conversion rates as well.

When your website doesn't have a secure connection, some browsers will alert visitors that your website is "not secure" and therefore some of them may leave.

Setting up an HTTPS takes two minutes and it's cheap (or even free in some cases). All you need is an SSL certificate.

You buy this from the company that's hosting your website. Many hosting providers may even offer a free SSL certificate to new customers.

If this was not the case for you, it's cheap anyway so get it.

Once you do, your hosting provider will enable it for you.

2. Loading Time

This month, Google has released a new update that will favor websites that comply with their Core Web Vitals. Or in English, fast websites will have an advantage.

There are several things you can do to speed up your site.

Now, I don't know if I am allowed to share videos but if I am, let me know and I'll share a video I've made that explains how you can boost your site's speed without any technical skills. It's much easier for you to learn that way than to read a chunk of text.

3. Responsiveness

Your website needs to be mobile-responsive. In other words, it should be usable on mobile devices as well as on desktop devices. Many page builders will automatically make your pages mobile-responsive, like Elementor for WordPress.

To check this, just load your site from your iPhone. If you see that some things are off, fix this ASAP.

How to fix this?

Well, each website is unique and therefore the approach one would take in fixing this issue will also be unique. This is why it's impossible for me to give you a one-size-fits-all answer.

It's best to consult with an agency that has done the website creation for you or, if you DIY-ed your website, learn more about your CMS.

Hope this post was helpful. Let me know if it was and also if I am allowed to share a website speed optimization video.

Cheers!

Cleaning up your HTLM underlying code helps a lot too.

Basically make sure its as "clean" as possible - meaning no unnecessary tags or hidden "trash" text etc.

This along with the points you emphasized here will indeed help.

But of course, overall the most important part is the actual content on your site, but that's abit of a nobrainer these days ;)

Hmmm, thats really interesting. Nowadays SEO is developing very quickly, so you need to know all the latest trends about it to use wisely all techniques.
Yeap! And the problem is, most businesses aren't aware of this, especially on our field.
Ecommerce businesses should develop an SEO plan to boost their products. Even hiring an SEO service or specialist is a good idea for us.
What respro expained here is fantastic. I'll also suggest to prepare keyword clusttering for your contents to avoid cannibalization

My best tip is to never fool yourself into thinking SEO and traffic is all you need. You can be #1 and not get a single call. Your site needs to convert.

Conversely, if your site has everything right for conversions (brand messenging, trust factors, great sales copy and calls to action) but no traffic, your website will also fail.

If you're going to hire an SEO or do it yourself, make sure you have both bases covered. If you're going to hire an SEO, make sure he or she is as much a marketing expert as an SEO. If not, get a marketing expert on your team to manage him or her.

I agree. My website was ranking number one and I wasn't getting a single call until I had calls to action and trust factors. Once I did all the tweaks slowly but surely my calls were coming in.
