Mine had a throttle limiter on the throttle cable. I took it off and adjusted it to proper rpms. Can you take a pic of it ? I called legends and they couldn’t help me. They stopped making the apex and prochem was bought out.
I have a governor on mine which limits throttle all of the machines do as far as I know. I just didn’t realize mine was so far off. I’m sure it was gradual over time and I just got used to the way it was sounding. I’ve been playing with it and got it to come up some but just wanted to make sure if I got too involved with it I was doing it the correct way. There’s got to be a way to get it back to where it should be without taking the governor off. I was just hoping someone may have some experience in doing this.

that thing I circled stops you from increasing the RPMs. I took mine off to get it to 2800
I don’t know if it’s the correct way but no one could help me. I posted your same question here and other forums and got lectured how I didn’t know my machine. Again not sure if that’s the correct was to adjust to the proper RPMs but I got mine to 2800 by removing that silver piece. The closest distributor is hours away from me so I tried myself.
I put a spring on instead of the silver piece and was able to adjust it to 2800. The spring has flexibility And it made a huge difference when I got it to 2800.I’m in the same boat as far as distributors go. I got mine to 2600 without taking anything off. Do your rpms seem to run consistent without the limiter? I might take mine off and see how it goes, I could tell a huge difference running at 2600
