I have a 3" " wonder wand" upholstery tool made by Powr-Flite. Despite awkward position of spraying jet( tendency to spray walls while cleaning furniture) I love that tool. Head by itself is indestructible, but solution line disintegrated, so I'm in need of solution line and vacuum hose. After calling manufacturer directly , I was told that I have to purchase complete tool for about $360. I found parts I needed on UK website, but it would be about same price Powr -Flite offering. Any idea, where to get it? I have a fancy Mytee tool, reliable Kleen-rite and good old $70 beater, but I would like my wonder wand back. Tool is rated for 1000 psi, so just that deserves respect. After using the PMF stainless steel hi-dri internal jet tool for literally 30 years, the Sheardry was way lighter and more agile to use than the SS tool I was used to using. However since I could use the PMF tool in both directions with trigger on I worried that the efficiency I had enjoyed would somehow be lost. I found Rotovac's to be much more even wetting with impressive perfect extraction in both directions. No wasted motion with great extraction edge to edge. Other similar looking tools have a thick forehead that just keeps you from cleaning closer to the vertical plane where cushion meet the back or armrest sides.
I always try what's out there so at the ICE expo I used Hydramaster's Drymaster.
Several points stood out on this no trigger tool:
1. Always flowing just meant wasting water to me. (a real bummer if you use a portable instead of your high performance truck mount. The drymaster will use up your water faster and fill the waste tank of a portable with unproductive water and acidic neutralizing rinse.
2. I noticed there was no agitation bar on the face of the tool an added beneficial feature on the Sheardry not found on any other tool currently on the market. I found the small ridge allows fabric to draw up from each vacuum slit around the ridge where the hot water directly moves soils from the nap to the vac slots. A kind of hydro kinetic action in both directions at the same time. If you try it to compare you'll understand right away.
3. The short compact length of the Sheardry made the Drymaster feel like an awkwardly heavy and long tool that felt like you needed two hands to use, especially since the stiffer vac hose just seemed bulkier than most. Then I noticed they had a grip accessory to keep your other hand busy instead of..... I don't know, maybe holding the fabric tight or stabilizing a loose back pillow cushion or moving your hose about without stopping.
YesWe are testing the new Rotovac ShearDry this weekend at my new home. Really digging the clear head. Wife wants all furniture cleaned. I’ll report back and make a thread probably. Anyone want a review video?
