I have a Roots 59 blower on a Power Clean NXT 59 TM. What generic - over the counter- synthetic lubricant / oil can I use in place of the Roots oil that they want $27 per quart for. The price is not really the issue - I need it today. Thanks. Ken

Since you're trying to make a substitute I would actually call Roots. Here is the manual for that blower and page 15 gives some info on the oil. https://www.pdblowers.com/tech-talk/lubrication-for-rotary-lobe-blowers/ They might be able to give you some specific suggestions on what you could buy locally.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up calling Jon-Don. Their equipment repair department is very knowledgeable. No hesitation in their recommendation so I ordered a couple quarts from them. No second guessing what goes into the blower.

These locations would be 3 to 4 hours away, but the Roots product should be available at the former Sunbelt location in Raleigh (now Aramsco) and at Interlink Supply in Greensboro (336-299-2299). Both places usually stock it, but I would call before making a day trip.

Considering Ken's location, just about everything is a few hours away, lol. And as lovely as that area is, it's well worth it! (I tend to go running away to Bryson City when I need a break from humanity.)

I thought that 30wt non detergent was suggested for a pressure pump. What would you suggest? I’m going to rebuild my pump seals and will be changing the oil. Thank you sir.

I've always run cat pump oil in my pressure pump and aeon in my vacuum blower. My piece of mind is worth the extra expense

Thank you sir. I’ll look into the cat pump oil.
