LOL MY GOD ONE MATH MISTAKE ILL NEVER LIVE IT DOWN!
At least it wasn't a spelling error. I'd have been all over you about that one. (grin)

I don't see this as Prochem's "demise" - I don't like to take an alarmist stance until it's been proven necessary. As far as I know, the chemical formulations are staying put, they have a LOT of really good products and I've heard of absolutely NO intention of changing that.

so prochem is taken over by another company...
the name is gone.....
the owners are gone.....
the engineers are gone?????
they are not supporting machines past 10 years????

i am guessing in a few years very few prochems will have parts......and support
thats the way it works in a corporate buy out......
part of the business.....
same happened to my wifes company.....

gotta move on.....
the greatest generation of TM is gone..never to return...

I like having all the bells and whistles on a truckmount. Looks like this 870 has it. I have the 570 and although it's an amazing heat beast and runs exceptionally well, there are some things I wish it had. For instance, a low pressure switch and a chemical pump shut off valve.

Check out the new cleanfax magazine. Saphire Scientific current offerings of truck mounts, nothing resembling prochem. Not even a mention of a direct drive.

The 1200 is still in production, last I heard. I believe their spread in Cleanfax was just to highlight their new look, not necessarily to show the units already in existence.

sorry to hear.....
all that matters is the facts..........

facts are TODAY...prochem parts are difficult to find and are not made for older prochem TM...especially HX.....

no one can dispute that because those who are trying to find parts already know this......

no one can say what the future holds ....but the trend looks like there will be less and less parts for these prochems TM......

ITS A FACT THAT WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET USED TO IN THIS BUSINESS.......

these big 3 TM are made to last 10-15 years .......thats it......

if you can repair them...they will last a lifetime......
if you cant you are stuck at 10-15 years.......

I have learned as many have to work on garage builds and my TM are 16 years old and will last another 30 because everything can be replaced easily......
i have replaced engine, blowers, silencers, heaters, pumps.....
the frame is all that is original....and it wont rust

kinda interested what was in the email
I'm not a "copy & paste" person with emails and PM's. Let's just say it was a semi-polite "FU" email.

To be fair, if a large manufacturer had posted something regarding TMF brand products and "RIP" if you announced an overhaul or merger, you'd be kind of upset too.

No one likes to see people jump to conclusions on a change that's happening, particularly if said conclusions have a negative slant to them.

I say give Legend a chance to SHOW what they've got going on with these units before determining that they are "dead". Both sides of this merger have been in the business for quite some time - and even though they're not perfect, I tend to think they know what they're doing.

Always keep in mind the old adage - "Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours burn any brighter. It just increases the darkness."

i agree that its not good to bash competition......

competition is good for the MARKET

this is a market economy.....
if someone can build a better TM at a better price then let them do it.......

in texas we have had 4-5 local TM builders ....
the last 20-30 years........

namco - still in business but focus on portables
cobb - still in business and doing well...expanding??
amtex - expanding over the last 20 years with better support
chemtex - local production..been around 20+ years
EZ tm - closed

thats only in Texas

around the country:
TCS - ATLANTA...15 years of production and expanding
reliabuild - colorado...expanding...7 years
blue barron - florida....selling a lot of TM....for 15 years
BUTLER - tm owners LOVE THESE GUYS FOR 30 years
Steam Action - missouri....30-40 years of great TM
FOX TM - CA.20-30 yrs ..heard nothing but good from owners

so like I said competition is good.....
keeps everyone working to make a better more affordable TM
