Hi we have been using a rotovac 360i with the brush attachment for a few years to agitate carpets and when we get tile and grout cleaning jobs and the engine has crapped out.

We really are not using all the functions this way. The main reason my team liked the 360 was it's weight as we do mostly in home cleaning.
I really don't want to spend another 2k on a new 360 and not sure my old one worth the 900 for a new motor.

Can i please get some recommendations for a light weight replacement? I have seen the Oreck Orbiter but not sure it will hold up to daily usage. How does it compare to the 360i for the purposes I use it to agitate fibers in home for carpet and occasional tile and grout jobs.

Any other recommendations of things I should look into that are about the weight of the 360 or less would be greatly appreciated!

Not to be belligerent, but How do you know that the motor is gone?

Have you checked the motor brushes?
the control box can also fail.

Those motors can be serviced and rebuilt fairly well and easily.

I myself (end user) have serviced mine without needing an engineering degree.

Unless you need a whole new assembly Id look into servicing rather than replacing or whole tool replacement.

The rotovac 360i has some really bad weaknesses, Ive talked to rotovac directly and have expressed some really good engineering advice and pointers to make the tool better and stronger, but I understand that they have placed their full faith on their point of view.
