Hello,

Im recently new to the carpet cleaning business. I currently partnered with a marketing firm (the firm is a premier SMB Google Ad partner). Our PPC budget is 950$ a month. The marketing executive told me that budget should land me about 2 - 3 jobs a day (he will be using key words like "carpet cleaning town"). PPC will be my marketing source for jobs for now.

Does this sound right?

Did you sign a contract or is it month to month?

Im currently not using any other forms of marketing.
Oh wow, pricey way to start advertising. I'm not against PPC at all but you might want to consider some other more effective forms of advertising to start with. I'm on my third year and I haven't reached the PPC advertising stage in my business, probably another year or two.

What other ways do you market?

Try and stay away from contracts in the future. Make sure they fulfill what they are promising you. Stay on top of them. You can run an effective ppc campaign with about $150 a week.
Thank you. Trust me ill be on top of them. Just hope that I don't end up getting no jobs. They built me an amazing website though.

How much of the $950 is for actual click cost and how much goes to their "management" of your ppc campaign. $950/mo could be a great deal if $900/mo goes toward click cost or a really bad deal if only $400 goes for the the click cost.

950$ a month is for ppc only.

Right, I get that part. But your ppc agreement should detail how much of your monthly spend goes toward their management of the campaign and how much goes toward purchasing those clicks. Often times a firm will charge a percentage of your ad spend for a management fee. For instance, a company may charge 10% of your monthly spend. So if you purchase $900 worth of clicks from Google, their fee would be $90. Others may charge a flat management fee. Either way, you NEED to know how much of your $950 investment is going toward actually purchasing clicks.

I understand, I am paying a total of 1335$ a month. 950$ PPC, 100 NLA, and 385$ for all their services (website, social media, etc)

I just desperately need to know if 950$ a month in PPC will get me a good amount of jobs.

My life is on the line so please give me as much feedback as possible.

The amount you pay for clicks should be totally up to you. If you need to increase or decrease your spend they should not have any issue with that as long as that amount is truly going to Google and not their fee. It's is common with a ppc campaign to pause and adjust spend on ads as your work schedule dictates. That is the benefit of ppc, you can turn them on and off almost instantly to fit your needs for calls. What is NLA? What else is included in the $385 besides the ppc management? You mentioned website, is that to design a new site? Or perform SEO on your existing site....?

And if $950/mo will deliver a good amount of jobs will be determined by how any companies are in your area bidding on clicks. If you are in a competitive market, it may not. If you have ads that are well written and managed properly it may. But again the good thing is you can totally adjust up or down once you give it a try.

Thanks you. Hopefully all goes well.

The firm I'm working with considers their SEO as NLA (don't ask me why).

And yes that 385 includes a brand new website.

Try using Facebook. I spend $65 -$100 a month and get at least 15-20 jobs a month. Average job ticket of $200. PPC is tricky and your website needs to be top notch in order to turn lookers into buyers.
