Indeed, it is next on the list!
Don't want to overload you, but there a few core tools that everyone should have. I honestly don't know when it ends. There are still about a million tools I think I "need".

I started with a porty and have worked my way to a fairly impressive arsenal. You will too.

Oh I know, just meant spending money without equipment making any. I will not be quitting my day job anytime soon. This is just my part time job for now.

I know I just finished the thread about your new TM, very nice piece of equipment! Congratulations!

My porty does have heat, when I mod it the heater will be coming out. Then I will use a bucket heater if I need to.

I look at craigslist daily for a few different items that I am wanting. I should be able to get my hands on one soon. If not, then by tax return time I will buy one!

Get a mytee sos for urine. The price is great for what it does. You have to sub rinse some urine spots and there's really no other efficient way. Plus it is great for getting ticket price up. Then look up some threads on urine removal. Huge part of this business.

That is another item on my list. I was asking folks about them on the restoration page and they were a saying to get a water claw, but for the price I think I will start with one of the sos's! :)

Getting some great advice Robert . Damon said it right !! Another tool you should consider for agitation is the variable speed car buffer that Harbor Freight sells . Sale item right now for $54 . It really does never end !! LOL !! Get a coupon for the cordless drill /flashlight combo for $20 . For what it costs , not a bad thing to have around . Get the Drill Brush kit for the drill and you have ANOTHER agitation tool that will help you !! That S.O.S. Tool is indispensable and for sure a great tool ! I've used mine fifty times in so many different situations I can't imagine NOT having it !! Also have a Flash Extractor 2 that is unused in the box !! LOL !! The S.O.S. Tool is in the same box as my upholstery tools and just to convenient to grab !!
All the Best, Ed

I am located in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Wow. Small world. I owned the Briarwood apts in Okmulgee and the Cedar Ridge Apts in Sand Springs and the Reedy apts on E 1st st in Tulsa. Too bad I sold most everything. I could have kept you busy.

It's worth $40 for sure. don't put your foot on it like I did. urine removal takes a little practice to do it right. I actually suggest getting the medium or large claw you stand on soon as you can. Urine equivalent to the size of a couch will take too long with any of the small tools. Need a small and large one imho. If your gonna except the larger urine jobs.

I haven't read the all of the above posts...but I would get an SOS for sure and DEFINITELY contact vacaway for a free spotting kit, all you pay is shipping. There products work really well. What will keep you buying stuff for years is if you offer many different services...ie, carpet, tile, upholstery, leather, pet spots, red spots, shower work, stone work, wood floors, rugs....it's a blessing and a curse. If you stay focused you don't have to buy a lot of additional items, if you diversify you can make a lot of money in just one home...and often the first job or two pays in full for the equipment...so you're working for free but you've now go the equipment...this makes it hard not to do everything :). Then you have the issue of fitting it all in your vehicle. Above all I think advertising and good signage is important. Signage makes you look committed, even if your vehicle is not all that.

Indeed, that is what I am planning on doing. Put my head down and work and reinvest into more equipment. Then I will be able to diversify into different types of flooring ect.

It's a small world for sure!

Indeed, that is what I am aiming to be able to do. Hotels, apartments, condos, high-rises, ect. Later on I will get a truckmount but for now I will just be focusing on the porty work!
