i am doing a rig for a portable trailer for a car wash for a friend and need some advise . i am going to be using a Honda 10,000 watt generator for back up power. i can get power from location setup. i will have access to a 2500 psi electric pressure washer with a cat pump. also a 3500 Briggs engine driven pressure washer.

i came across a old castex magnum 900 portable that is in good condition. vac still works. pump i don't like and way too heavy. a hypro pump. rather a run dry pump.

i am thinking about a aquatec 220 psi pump.http://www.steam-brite.com/aquatec-...220-edic-aepump220-free-shipping-p-10801.html

a in line 2000 watt heater. i already have these http://www.steam-brite.com/mytee-a902-2000-watt-internal-heater-carpet-cleaning-machines-p-8874.html or i also have this heater http://www.steam-brite.com/clean-storm-1750-watt-heater-repair-large-style-180120-x9105-p-12801.html both is in a protective case.

two vac motors should i go parell or tandem http://www.steam-brite.com/stage-inch-vacuum-motor-12023m-p-8780.html

First question can aquatec 220 psi pump do 50 to 100 feet of solution line ?

Next question i want to mount the castex in the trailer permanently. can i do 50 feet of vacuum hose ? .i have never done more than 25 feet of vacuum hose on a portable machine. need 50 feet for operating around the vehicle comfortably

whats the best procedure for auto fill ? on board water storage will be 200 gallons supplied by a 55 psi pump 5 gpm.

And finally which auto dump should i buy?

keep it clean

I like parralel setup for the vacuums. You can boost them if needed by hooking boosters to their exhaust. Creating 2 x 2.
Go with 2" hose with 2" barb. 1 1/2" tools are ok. But don't even bother with 1 1/2" hose. Difference is night and day. I will never use 1 1/2" again after last week. What a pia that was. As of last monday I now have 100' 2". The 1 1/2" don't know what to do with now. Maybe cut the crap up and use it to tie up trash lol I don't know.
Auto fill you can get float valve from pressure washing companies or farm supply.

Is this an economy build or do you have a budget?
I would find an old blazer or 100a truck mount 3.2 hydra master a good one too . Run inverter for 110volt power. Vacation better than vacation motors . In line filter for dry and wet .
Heat better than electric heaters. 800 to 1000 for wash down with or without chemicals.less stuff to break smaller footprint. Run a 12 volt submersible pump to supply water. No 110 volt to shock you if there might get a short. Just a personal opinion.

I use the 220 psi pump at 75 feet and it works fine. There is no significant drop off. It's a slower process in heavily soiled areas but not too bad with a prescrub... 100 feet? I don't know...I would go with a 2400 watt heater with switches for each element like the hot turbo. Is this to be used for auto's or homes?

auto only. i have a speedster and a mytee lite for homes. i want to put a live hose reel for the 220 psi pump.

Budget i have just don't want to go over board on the build. the cleaning machine is a added bonus for the trailer. but i want a nice little small setup. the majority of the business is washing cars daily. steam cleaning them is semi annual niche setup . so i have most of the stuff already. the portable was free. the heaters i have in stock always. the vac is good on the portable, just wanted a bit of power more. i am going 12v for the pump good idea. i could also dump the heaters and go with a little giant.but i already have electric and i have to use a generator to power the portable. what about a hix off the generator or thats too much back pressure.

Honestly I would rather have an adjustable pump than the 220 psi unit for cars (overspray issues) The advantage of the hot turbo over most units is you can get a lot of heat with 15 amps(3 switches) 1800 watts. You can get even more heat with 20 amps (all 4 switches) 2400 watts with the 220 pump.

That's great I would do the same, use what you have and expand from there. With a heat exchanger the biggest expense is the initial investment. Then it's recovering heat that would Normally be Wasted.
Good luck.

the castex came with a 500 psi adjustable pump. its clunky old and heavy and requires a lot of maintenance dont want that in a semi skilled person hands. i have to look at the big picture. i keeping the regulator so no worries i will have adjustable pressure with gauge. also i buying a mytee new upholstery tool.:)

With 50 feet of hose the 220 pump works really well with a single jet upholstery tool.

this help a lot
I thought it night because the manufacturers exaggerate and the end users expect it to much with higher flows. It's pretty good in my setup. It only takes 5 minutes to heat up, it has no problem giving me serviceable heat far better than tap and it's easier on the pump. For your setup you should be fine.

Cross-American used Hypro 500 psi pumps for a very long time. In mine and others experience we got a lot of service life
out of these twin piston pumps. There was some maintenance really only needed to be greased . It had a zert that was quite accessible in our equipment.
Castex sold a lot of extractors with the Hypro Twin Piston 500 psi pump as did Certified I believe and as I mentioned
Cross-American. Castex even had an ETM (Magnum DVA that came with that pump with dual 7.2 3 stages and I think a Paloma propane water heater. Even these days there are a couple of mfgs that still used the cast iron Hypro twin piston pump.
Ran on two 120 volt circuits. Our CA Jaguar 4000 used the Hypro pump as well our high performance extractor
the CA 1600 which later called the Lightening 2000. Same vacuum setup as the Castex Magnum DVA that I mentioned earlier.
The difference was that each vacuum motor in the Cross-American extractors had its own stack pipe and exhaust. Ed really
tweaked those machines to get the most out every single amp. The Hypro pump was a work horse and they lasted a long
time. One thing that agravated me with the portable CA Lightening was it would lose its prime rather easily and was quite
difficult to get it flowing again. This was not nearly as much of a problem with the Jaguar 4000. It had a 40 gallon water tank
which kept the solution system fully primed .
We really didn't have much choice in those days when it came to pumps for portables.
There just wasn't very many that would run off a 1/2HP electric motor and provide 500 [email protected]
Of course when Pumtec came out that changed everything and has proved to be a great pump.
