price might be a smidge high.
I was told there was over $20,000 of equipment before the owner passed. I know nothing about the equipment, so trying to look up pricing myself didn’t work. I did put it as best offer in case the price was high. What would you suggest everything is worth?

I know the van was bought new and only used for carpet cleaning jobs. I do not know any more of the history of the van, so I can only go by what the odometer says.
It is indeed an impressive set of equipment - however, being honest, a lot of it is VERY old. May still be in perfect working order and well-maintained, but it's got some age on it. The dye kit is of some value to guys who still practice this craft. But carpet cleaners buying used equipment are bargain-hunters, and what it's WORTH is generally a far cry from what you GET for it.

Honestly, in this area, the whole kit n kaboodle would go for about 10-12k at most.

I'm sorry to say it, but it's the truth. You may actually be better off selling it piecemeal, as most guys won't need so many portables at one time.

Do you have any local distributors in your area who would be willing to help you sell it all off as consignment? You'll likely give up a percentage, but they'll have a targeted market for you AND they'll have a good idea of the retail value of your stuff - plus they'll know who needs what and can reach out for you.

you were told wrong

the truck is what 2500 at best old carpet cleaning equipment does not hold much value anyway putting here is a waste of time, these guys are beyond super cheap and they have no money.

There's an Interlink not too far from you, in Bedford Heights. I'd reach out to them and see if they're willing to help you find buyers.

Based on pics, the Cimex and repair tools/dye kits will be the most valuable things you've got to offer. The Ninja Warrior looks to be an unheated unit, the other portys are mostly older units, and the van (while VERY low miles) would be too old to be considered "trustworthy" by most guys.

You're going to get beaten up on price no matter where you go, but Interlink may be able to give you a fair ballpark on what many of your units would sell for new. Take that, drop it by about 75%, and you'll be in the ballpark that most guys would be willing to pay.

It's going to be difficult to find someone who needs so many portables, so if you sell it all in one lot then the majority of it is going to be getting re-sold by whoever buys it (hence they will dicker you down pretty aggresively since they only "need" one unit, two at most).

Thank you for your information you responses are greatly appreciated. Maybe i should have started a whats it worth thread instead of a for sale. I just figured someone would offer something even if it was way lower than asking price.

How can you be so sure the guys here have no money? You are here - do you have no money also?

Looking at the equipment the guy started in the 90s......
looks like to me he kept his equipment in tip top shape including his van.....
amazing for being 25 years old.....
his van could have the 57k true miles

most of those portables are 15-20 years old.....

the situation with portable today is they have made dramatic changes and improvements the last 5 years.....
different from truckmounts...that hold more value....

you can buy a new portable with all the latest and greatest for around 3k now.

so sad to say your portables aren't holding value.......
even though they are in very good condition for age....

kinda like an 10 year old iphone .......
