It's a 301 with a blade slot on each side, neither is centered.
Thats what i changed on mine (302). The blade is always centered now. I use it mostly on gluedowns where we do alot of top cutting doorways. Comes in handy for repairs in some situations. It gets below fibers better then other cutters. And does good job of beveling.

ive been doin a lot of lvt.

last patch i walked off job!

tear gas was shot through the windows and burned holes in the carpet.

i was choking just from doing estimate. told the guy carpets had too be neutralized and cleaned he wanted too take care of it.

so we schedule i go back he leaves tells me everything has been cleaned. i knock out three patches and even with a face mask. my eyes are burning snot running and im having too hold my breath. had too take off my under shirt and get it wet too soak my family.

guy shows he lied about cleaning. paid me $150 and i left. told him too call me back when it was properly neutralized lol

that stuff is evil!

nice work @jtsunbrite

Cleaning up in the shop a couple weeks ago and I came across this relic. I made a pile of loot with this joker back in the day super fast in rentals. Taking the donor piece out to the sidewalk to wear it in and hit the aluminum threshold on the way back in to add some traffic lane grey... Presto!

Cutting seams, squares or rectangles I usually use a dull Carpenters pencil to split the pile dead straight and cut between the rows with a cushion back cutter if it's large and in a prominent area. For small ones I free hand like everyone else.
that's awesome I would have never thought of that

That's dedication, I wouldn't have done that with the tear gas

My brother loves his center cut. I think I am just used to being able to see the blade as I slowly cut, especially now that my eyes aren't as good anymore.

I make almost as much per job now as I do carpet cleaning. It’s a great thing to learn but invest in the right tools. Using a clothes iron and rag to try to seam tape together is a bad idea. I fix that all the time. Get a kool glide so you don’t have to run seams to a wall

Orcon XU-90 is a low temp hotmelt. Works great with surface iron method. It also allows hot glue gun to melt in easier. The higher temp ones like XK-30 take too long to heat through. It can be done ive done it. But results vary too much with different carpets. Low temp tape is good choice for repairs.
