This is from Ametek 8.4"drawings.

View attachment 78321

The exhaust notation is not shown ion the 6.6" schematics, but they are the same design.

I confirmed airflow intake from the top of the 6.6" motors with a piece of flat paper.

You can even feel it with your hand.
I guess, if this is the airflow to cool down the LX vacs, It would be better to have the intake facing the outside so that it can take in cold air. What do you think?

I have 2 7.2 vac motors on my port in parallel and the most I can run is 75 ft .
I was looking at putting 2 8.4s what's your opinion? I want to run at least 125ft and be able to use a 360i or rx20 also

The LX in series will Out perform two 8.4s In series or parallel. Go with the LX.

Aren't the 8.4 the same bolt pattern as the 7.2 that I have in my porty? They run parallel and I get 9" lift at 50' but for some reason I can't go much longer without satisfactory lift for my liking. I want to run at least 125' . Won't the 8.4 in parallel do that for me

this is my formula from field testing over 10 years......
andersons formula:
HOSE RUNS= 1/2 CFM

this holds true whether with a TM or portable.....

example:
45 blower TM= 350 cfm = 175' hose run
47 blower TM = 470 cfm = 230-250' hose run

you can obviously go over but not wo significant vacuum loss....

Yes 7.2 and 8.4 are the same bolt pattern. Go to the LX motors. Change your plumbing to air series. You won’t believe the performance you will get.
