Hello everyone!
I am needing advice on doing CAT work for hurricanes. Its been something I've been wanting to get in to and planning on heading out there next year.

How was your experience?
What equipment did you use?
Generator recommendations?
Any other reccomdations or advice will help out greatly.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I appreciate all answers.

CAT work is very, very different from independent work and is typically covered (some would say "dictated") by SFIP and FEMA regulations among others. Quite often, you are dealing with a multi-tiered sandwich of homeowner/insurance agency/government oversight body that can make getting paid a very difficult process indeed.

Do some thorough research on how CAT claims are paid, and by whom, before you decide to take on this kind of work. My guys who have done storm jobs in the past report a typical turnaround time of six to 18 months before they start to get paid.
