Ok so only one standard two stage 6.6 motor

and now the Mytee single stage 6.6

i thought originally they had a single stage 6.6 then came out with the 2 stage 6.6
Guess i'm wrong on that huh

It's funny how there was so much bickering going on years ago with different opinions on the 6.6 two stage Ametek Motors versus the 5.7 Electro three stage motors, not to mention all the Series versus Parallel threads.

John at Mytee even did a YouTube Video saying the 5.7's were better.

Now Mytee are using the 6.6's and the newest Speedster LX models are all in Series.

Guess these newest 6.6 LX Motors are vastly improved over the older 6.6's from 4-5 years back.

Yeah their magic motors, Mytee got them from the same guy who sold jack his beanstalk beans.

I tried it out at the ICE show Friday.. it’s flat out an awesome machine ! Also luging around a 200 pound machine V.S. A 900 pound machine is becoming more appealing these days.

Jim , that single stage is available for years .... but it was always 1400w ....
i see a 120v version 122209-18 ... there is also a 12v
pretty sure the lx have the 1600w motor like the two stage 6.6/8.4

Its quite likely that there is only one motor maufactured for both 120v and 230v .... just the windings are connected differently to select 120 or 230v during production

your right ... i see 700airwatts mentioned on a model in the same series ...
i wonder how proprietary the Mytee version really is .... did they tweek the fan ... or is it just that ametek latest version .... and will it be available for $100 somewhere

Most likely Mytee simply asked Ametek for a 120 volt version and the LX is what they came up with.
You're thinking Mytee might have had a third party involved in the tweaking ? That would certainly explain the proprietary.
Does the LX have Thermal overload protection ? Cobb sold the 8.4s without. Once they trip they are more sensitive but operable with ventilation. Running in series they will run hotter . 90 > degree weather will be a deciding factor.

Don't know , there was talk of a tweeked fan , I figured it ment mytee asked ametek. for a particular curve on the graph to aid performance while cleaning .....but like u say perhaps its just how it turned out as standard.

Since we are talking motors, what size does this motor appear to be? 7.2? 2 or 3 stage?

5.7 on the far right, this motor is much bigger than a 5.7

I was able to see the numbers...

the difference in the lx vac motors compared to the standard 6.6 vac motors is the windings are different on the motor. most likely more torque or more rpms to be able to create more airflow while under load or during cleaning. fan blades may be different as well.

The more I play with 6.6" motors, the more I realize that any comparisons between them and 5.7" motors should be so much more than just CFM and lift, and series or parallel.

The design and build of 6.6" motors compared to 5.7" motors is night and day.

Makes holding a 5.7" in you hand feel like your holding a toy.

Anyone running a Mytee LTD, a late design Speedster, an older Mytee like an M5, or anyone contemplating a new custom ETM build should go ahead and get a 6.6" motor in their hands if you never held one.

Once one is in your hands, your decision will be easy.

It's no contest.

Order a 6.6" already and see for yourself.

I will buy it off you if you don't want it.

Holding any 5.7 up against any model of a 6.6 or 8.4 Ametek motor the difference in build is obvious .
It was only a few years back when Electro was suppose to be the best according to Mytee . Kudos to M for returning to the time proven Ametek Lambs.
