Here's the skinny,
One old El Toro bought for 190o buckaroos
Powered by a kohler command ch18s
Blown by a Roots 45 blower
Pressured by a GP General Pump Emperor HTXS1813S
Previously wired by a serious tweeker
No owners manual
5 cases of beer

Lets get to work!

I want to basically delete all the el toro logos decals etc and make this all mine. rebuilding everything along the way. Maybe even stick a TMF 10 dollar bumper sticker on it to make it the worlds baddest poormans truckmount!

My friend Rick built that machine! If you need any help let me know.
Wow after tearing into it Todd its Bad! The entire mount for the pressure pump is cracked and seriously falling apart. Im going to get materials to make a entirely new platform. the old platforms not weldable. The engine is missing stuff. The fuel pump is missing and oil is leaking out of everywhere.

My main questions are

1-There are shims under the engine I imagine to align the coupler to the blower. how hard is it to re-align the engine because I have to pull it.

2- The kohler ch18s has a vacuum pulse fuel pump. where does the vacuum feed hook up to the engine? I looked all over but don't see a connection to the block etc I do see the feed to the carb, all the old hoses and pump are missing. Engine runs off carb cleaner :)

3- Does your friend have any documentation etc. Trying to figure out what is what it is horrible because I am sure someone else has messed around with it since it was built.

4- it has a screw throttle allowing to dial a rpm. its toast where do I get a replacement or retrofit.

Pulled motor today wow needs some work but hey that's why it's a project. The oil leak was from a loose oil filer.

Hey Joe,

The frame looks in pretty good shape. Is it stainless steel? Is it 1 inch or 1 1/2 frame? Did you figure our how you were going to align the coupler? I wonder if the pump mounts broke due to misaligment I saw some lazer alignment tools on line, they were a bit pricey There was also a coupler coupler called the alignment eliminator

Well the frame is 1 1/2 tube but the engine mounting beams suck and are far too thin walled for this application. Yes frame surgery is on the horizon :)

I'm thinking of using autometer gauges and edelbrock controls choke cables etc. I want this as custom as possible :)

Yeah that looks like a fun project. Looking forward to it progressing. What's next after making pump mount? servicing blower?

May as well make that quick video of the seal replacement. It may come in handy for a lot of TMF members including myself.
