Weird spots on marble brand new install
ImageUploadedByTMF Forums1456894937.456830.jpg

Then the cleaning company used "rejuvenate" marble polish from Home Depot. It looks extremely hazy now. I am assuming it just needs cleaned, and maybe run over it w a 3000 grit pad? but I'm looking for advice.

Also some travertine that they didn't clean the grout good and now it looks like this was thinking to clean and go over it w a 800 grit pad?

Someone dripped something acidic on the stone and etched it. Cleaning will not fix it, it needs to be honed and polished.

Good god....the maid... "Hmmm Im a low payed maid must qualify me to work on this 30 thousand dollar floor... Meh it just needs some crap out of a bottle off the shelf at home depot"

And wait then there is the owner who is stupid enough to buy a floor like this and then allow idiots to put their hands on it...Not sure which is worse....

If the etching is not that bad you could get away with 5x or mb22 powder... I would not recommend putting a diamond impregnated pad on this floor so no no 3k grit pad...

The marble and the travertine will be attended to differently. The marble with MB22 as mentioned. If you have never used it before I recommend finding someone who can train you with this floor. The travertine can be honed and the hit with MB18. Again if you haven't handled travertine before find a good friend. Good luck.

Why john , because of the french tile lacing ?
Because it is brand new floor which means it has a flat surface and sharp edges... Diamond pads round out the tile edges and give the floor a pillowed look, in other words you are pouring gasoline on the fire...Also a 3k grit pad would never touch the factory polish.... Pads really are not for high end floors.

Light haze and the spots r smooth not rough
Etches should polish out easily then. Do you have experience with polishing?

I would run a 400 or 800 monkey or poly pad on the travertine. Depending on the finish. You will get a slight pillowed look like Jon said, but it's better than grout haze.

No experience polishing

All I have is a 175 and I do have a set of monkey pads up to 3000 grit
