I want I found 170 as well and a 200 those thinking things are every place because they never broke they always ran in the cars they were in just went to rot
The only problem I see is that they're huge
But honestly it could probably run that blower at idle

170 is shorter in height and length and ive thought about the same thing.

ive got an older prochem im rebuilding i dont need a monster.

but the 6cly i had was quiet and wasnt that much too put together and im sure it would outlast any of these glorified lawn mower engines

And honestly they're a lot cheaper I'm finding it for two three hundred bucks from a salvage yard

dude i spent about 2500-3000 rebuilding my whole van custome alarm and power locks install cost more than the engine rebuidl trans rebuild lol they're bulletproof and theyre inexpensive to work on and maintain.

footprint isn't obnoxious you'll need double the oem radiator capacity and an aux fan since those tended to operate at higher temps.

Yes I run a Genesis 56... Love the Beast!!!
Knock on Wood treated me very well, I purchased it with only 1100 original hours, I have over 4000 now after 3 years of flawless operation!!
Yep I bought mine used with 5000 hours it threw a rod with the gauge stuck at 9998
We almost got it roll over two more stinkin hours he put a motor in it and that thing is still going there's no question the number 56 blower is a beast and a tough-as-nails machine

Yep I think I'm going to need go digging around in a salvage yard find me an inline 6 that's tiny like that 170
The pump off the front accessory Drive in the blower off the flywheel side it wouldn't take up that much space

nope id invest in electronic water pump too reduce anything else the motor has too pull, eliminate fan and use electric van, you dont want someone's hand being cut off those didnt come with a clutch lol

i like the steamway but they underpower there engines for that 47 blower....imo

you could get by with the 40hp kholer.......2500$

but if you can rebuild a 4 cylinder....and thats your gig.....
that would definetely be preferable and be a beast........
should get 5000-10,000 hours on a 4 cylinder....even on a rebuild

I think the steamway has plenty of power but not for double wanding

Yes I've considered getting a rebuilt 4 cylinder
