Cleaning a luxury retirement village Monday and Tuesday night -
Problem is they will only let us use a truck mount and it has to be parked in their parking garage (they have exhaust fans)
BUT - THIS PLACE IS HUGE to get to the very end of the 2nd floor hallway we would be running 2,000 ft of hose.

Is there any way to boost the vacuum at that length?

That doesn't sound fun at all. Do you know anyone with an Aerotech or Vortex machine?

Walk. You will spend 2 hours just setting up hose and another 2 hours putting it away. At that length of hose run you will not be able to achieve any significant amount of lift so even if you do have some airflow you still won’t be pulling anything out of the carpet. You will leave the carpet wet for days. I don’t think even an Aerotech is made to do 2000 foot hose runs.

I don’t know if a porty vac booster 50 feet from the wand would help or not.

Sounds like an excellent VLM job, or at the very least a porty job.

Agree with Todd on the vlm option. Unless you want to use a portable for all of it, its the only reasonable way to go. I used to do a lot of these and I hardly ever used the truck. Just a cimex and a few cases of encap and worked until a couple hours before people started waking up. Safer for the elderly too. No way you can watch 2000 feet of hose at all times. Even if you have caution signs the last thing you want is a broken hip or worse that could have been prevented.

They won't allow portables due to the noise. I've explained the hose run issue they basically said they don't care...

I would find out WHY they are allowing a truckmount only. You can work it from there. get some history as to their past cleaning experiences. By getting some background you will be able to better educate them

The one and the only reason that comes to mind why they would expect something that ridiculous is they don't want noisy portables in there disturbing their residents. Sounds like a job for a vlm machine and that's what I'd be setting my sights on. No way I'd even consider it with a TM.

Yeah that's the reason, they don't want it noisy because it disturbs them.

I mean you can only VLM so many times before it needs to be extracted...but yeah, I agree there is some poorly set expectations.

Yes it can be done as I have been running 350' with a TM and a booster on 3 story hotels...I use the rotovac 57 in parallel...adds 300 cfm to your TM.

It is better to put the booster 50' down line but it can still be set outside and run 400' depending on your TM.

I pm you if you want more info and videos......

thanks

How many boosters do you need for 2000 feet of vacuum hose?

400 feet is one thing, if you put the booster outside 2000 feet away I doubt it will make much difference.

wow getting old didnt see the 2000'

only way to do that is run 2 portable boosters and put them inside a bathroom or empty janiters closet and close the door
hook up water to the hot water of the janiter closet......

or maybe you could go through a window half way down or something????

bro ru shure of your measurements?????????

my math calculations = 7 football fields
that = 7 300' hose reels

that would take 3-4 trucks with 2 hose reels just to get the hose

that is almost 1/2 mile

for information it takes 10 minutes at a brisk walk to walk 1/2 mile

Yes, this place really is that big, also consider more than 1 floor.

Their CHEAPEST floor plan for rent is $6,000 a month
