As we grow I feel just an hourly wage isn't enough to keep people motivated to continue to grow with our company.

I am looking to change to an hourly + commission based pay scale.

I am asking for help from the board from some of you who have been using this type of pay program. The problem I am having is putting it on paper or spread sheet with percentages. I would like to offer the better techs higher percentages, but not sure where to start and scale. Does anyone have something they can share?

You might be overthinking it.....

We have hourly pay + commissions. Any thing they up sell (repairs, add on a room, upholstery, anything that wasn't on the original order) they get 10%. Any Scotchgard that they sell, they get 20%. That simple. Lead with that.

All our lead techs get paid 20% of the job including add ons and updates. We max out at $250 a day. Helpers get a base hourly wage

Lead techs do 2500 a day? That's not shabby. What else besides carpet cleaning?

Straight commission no cap.......
Let the techs work as much as they want....
If you don't give commission they don't feel ownership....
