CarpetMax carpet cleaning2 shortened - YouTube
I recorded this video, did a little basic editing and posted to YouTube and Facebook.
Trying to see what you guys think about it.
Videos are a powerful marketing tool and we need to take advantage of it.
Thanks all

You asked for it.

  • I see nothing that says what you do or separates / differentiates you from any other carpet cleaner. This may sell the idea that the carpet needs cleaning, but it does not sell your company as the one they should chose to have this service performed.
  • The carpet being cleaned is getting cleaner, but it is also lacks tip definition, shows blooming, is matted and corn-row. Not a good final example appearance-wise. I want to show the fiber twist and grooming being restored or a carpet that was not so worn out as the demo.

Brutal honesty:

Do you do spot removal, re-stretching, bonded inserts, dye, etc? If so, maybe a video showing the incredible results after you got out a big ol' blob of Kool Aid, or the rumply ripply mass that is now a properly stretched carpet would be more effective.

The interwebs are loaded with videos of wands and rotaries doing the magical "poof! dirt's gone!" thing - try to find something that isn't quite so common and will keep the viewer's interest. A full minute of watching a wand go back and forth is kinda like listening to white noise to go to sleep... especially with the trippy trance music. I want a nap now.

Thank you, Scott
Yes, I did ask for it because I want to master it
Great 2 points. It was pretty hammered up carpet in a mobile home. We got good results and the customer was ecstatic.
But this is nowhere near the target clientele. Also I should be shooting videos that point out the steps we do that the competition doesn't

The original video had my helpers voice getting impressed with his job so I put this background music which I created. Now Wolfgang inside me needs to get more creative because we don't want them to fall asleep, want them to call us.
I see shortening the video was a good idea too because it was twice as long and it is as monotone as it can get

Dude really? The customer looking for a carpet cleaner online is not going to enjoy the near porn-music background or have carpet that old/lousy. Do it over on better carpet with scrolling lettering saying what you are doing and list what else you can do.

Great point, I'll be recording cleaning nicer carpet and put up a longer, more descriptive video.
Porn music though? Never event would think about it that way. One more thing to consider

@carpetmaxllc I agree with above but my 2 cents would be...

show a video of how you enter a nice home, show you or your techs laying out moving blankets over the wood floors, placing corner guards, maybe catch a short shot of the before carpet in the same take.. so your showing before but also the care you give to the customers home

the 2nd part would be showing the finished product and how you pack up, doing a quick flat mop over any areas you or your guys stepped on the non carpeted areas.

First I wanted to start by saying keep it up! You asked for criticism so your getting a lot of good feedback. But great job on trying your hand at a video. I had a client once tell me one person sings a song yet millions of people judge it.
I agree with everyone here on the video. While it’s a awesome start it needs a lot. My only suggestion that hasn’t been said already is I always find it best when the client can easily get your contact info. I’m looking for them to call me. Get your phone number visible as much as you can.

I'm taking pictures and videos now nearly at every job. I'll put together a clip that shows all the steps including them details that pull attention. It'll have a subtitle type of text explaining what's happening in each section

Thank you, sir for the advice
I'll try to give the phone number a bigger visibility

looks great, personally I would swap your grooming step with speed drying/air movers and since your scrubbing with an orbital/rotary tool I would just extract with a 360 instead.

youll get a better flush, save time, and carpets will dry faster.

Fantastic! Thanks ACP. I do carry a couple of air movers, use them sometimes. Might as well start using them at every job.
I'll look into purchasing one of them 360s too
