I have a bio cleaning company and about 75% of what I do is cleaning up poop. Dog, cat, people, etc.. and it can be on anything -- tile bathrooms, carpet, linoleum, walls, etc. Usually the space is a cramped house. I'm not working in offices or restaurants with big open spaces (little bathrooms, between furniture, etc).
I'm hoping to improve my process to get better results and to be faster. I already have a large trailer with all of my equipment and was thinking of adding a portable machine and some appropriate accessories.
For backgorund, here's what I currently do:
1) loosen big chunks with a metal scraper (by hand)
2) suck up in a shop vac
3) pre-treat with an enzyme
4) agitate with a 12" random orbital floor scrubber (using a semi-aggressive brush)
5) Use the bissel proheat 2 (consumer grade carpet cleaner, looks like an upright vacuum) on carpet, or rags if wiping up on a hard surface.
The system is surprisingly effective! But I want to be faster (and better, if possible). I spent a full day cleaning the carpets in a 2,000 sqft house this week with my little machine. The 1-gallon solution and 1/2 gallon waste buckets mean I have to stop every 5 minutes. But one of the benefits of the Bissel is that it has 2 beater bars, so I can agitate, and agitate, and agitate over and over until the grossness finally breaks free and liquifies.
This is my plan, but I would love your feedback on specifics I should get (or avoid), or any mistakes in my reasoning:
1) A portable with 1200PSI so I can make the tile/grout look great (do I need a $4,800 Nautilus, or could I get by with the $2800 "Prospector" from Jon-Don?). I live in Florida, so stairs/weight aren't a typical concern for me.
2) turbo force 12" tile and grout cleaning tool (will this work in small bathrooms, next to a toilet, etc? Is it easy to clean the chunks of poo from the mechanism underneath?)
3) Rotovac Powerwand (thinking this would be good because of the two 7" rotating brushes that it'll break apart the poo from carpet fibers)
Is it a problem that none of the 1200 psi machines have heat? Should I add an external heater? Or get less PSI so I can have heat?
And since both of those machines are round, do I need something else to do the corners? Or just scrub the corners by hand?
