Sodium Hypclorite would've cleaned it right up! That stuff is so hard to find though, can only get it from 2 specialty labs in the entire world......

Why is this your problem? Sometimes they just don't come clean. It is just stained.

Tell me exactly what your process was and what you used.
I had to do that one buy hand I soaked it down with merical natural stone and tile cleaner mixed with hot water let it sit scrubed with grout brush ,toothbrush ,every other scrub brush ‘ I put some steam on it , I cleaned and rinsed ,after that I put gel bleach in the grout and that got it that cleaned it was dark brown . I was there to clean the whole house clean the floors up real good .

grout or epoxy grout doesn't seem like an issue, seems like it's just experience that is lacking.

some floors can be aggravating without the proper chems.

i watched a guy spend $400-$500 on chems too strip a ceramic floor that homeowners were waxing. when i got there he had spent days on this job. and i showed him all the areas that still had wax thats why in his situation grout didn't look clean, cuz it wasnt.

he used a super hot tm, spinner, op machine, 175 and super strippers he ordered just for the job!

all he needed was a $10/gal stripper and lots of patience and too work small areas

That’s a perk of also having a house washing business! I get 250 Gallons of Sodium Hypochlorite delivered every Thursday. Never used it for grout though. Use it on houses, and concrete

Just learn how to re grout, sometimes grout is stained deep and there isnt a chem that will clean it. Re grouting isnt that hard and the bonus is you sell them on a waterproof grout plus a bigger job ticket

if it's a small area regrouting isnt a pain. but ive done 1500+ sq/ft of regrouting and its a pain plus its pretty messy

is it in a restroom? or kitchen hall where? location will determine some chems too use.

high ph can also cause trouble on stone floors btw
It was a front entrance it was so caked with dirt I know marble is senstive miracle natural stone is my choice because it’s safe I only bleach the grout with out getting on the marble there is a floor at one of the offices I clean that has the same kind of grout he’s let different tile compines come in no machine or chemical has got his clean
For the record, plain old Clorox bleach is about 8% sodium hypochlorite.[/QUOTE I used gel bleach but something that strong will it affect the marble

Always test, always test, always test...
You set expectations on the front end and make excuses on the back end.
Often times stone is set with an epoxy resin that can yellow over time. Or it can be stained.
If you test clean the grout in a couple of spots you can make suggestions.
I would have tried grout master and then sold them on diamond polish to restore the shine.
But don't sweat it, I learned the hard way to never assume.
I always do a pre inspection before quoting.
