Is this the new way to leave carpet?

To V, or not to V, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The dings and backaches of outrageous wanding,
Or to take arms against a sea of triangles
And by raking end them. To rotary—to power-wand,
No more; and by a rotary to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural complaints
That cleaning is heir to: 'tis a cash tip
Devoutly to be wish'd.

To V or not V depends on the job...

For our property managers they prefer a groomed uniform V pattern as they feel they can tell prospective renters it has been cleaned and the marks prove it...
for Owners many prefer it groomed in one direction.

Y'all are really overthinking this. One, should be doing a post walk-thru with the customer before you rake anyways, that's a great time for them to say, "Wow I like those V patterns!" Ie...dont rake.

If they say nothing about it, then it is your chance to say, "I'm going to rake the carpet etc etc" This provides even more value in the customers eyes.

Wow that looks like crap

I agree with the triangles. Triangles are the lazy way to clean carpet
Well that solves the controversy.

I leave my carpets any way I want and could care less how anyone leaves theirs. Backgammon or go home with my company. Takes lot more effort but delivers carpets that are attractive and that dry fast. But if one feels froggy...

It's a character flaw of mine but I can't seem to help it. They came into the first room I had cleaned and "ranted" how dirty it still was.

So I put F U in the second room and left. Carpet was so dirty I'm sure that F U stayed there until the next carpet cleaner showed up...

I, like the op, like to clean and then groom all in one direction. We try and achieve everyone’s carpet looking brand new, or as close to the day it was installed as possible. I think designs or triangles are a joke. We had someone in town that leaves carpet like this post, and it looks terrible. But it also looks better than the guys who don’t take at all.
