I was doing a small job for a local church this afternoon and parked right next to the sidewalk, but in the churches driveway. I worked for them some 2 days last week and they requested 32 more chairs to clean so that's what I was doing. While I was inside working evidently someone took the golden opportunity to steal my Samsung cell phone out of my holder in my van and take off with it. It doesn't appear anything else was bothered. I'm not so concerned about the phone itself since I was planning on replacing soon anyway. I'm more concerned with all the info on it although I think everything is password protected. I don't use any kind of screen protection. Well, I went online and was able to at least track where it went from the church to the next destination about a mile or so away. I find there are 2 old men living there and they know nothing about the phone so I ask the neighbors on each side. It so happens one saw a woman visit the 2 old timers and let's just say she WAS NOT a social worker, but you might say she was doing a certain KIND of social work! Long story short, I think she was a pro and I'm not talking a pro cleaner, but a pro thief and a pro hooker. Of course the old men refused to tell me anything about her except she wasn't there for social work!
The tracking ends at their apartment so either the battery has died or they turned it off. I decided to send an erase to the phone since it's highly doubtful I will ever see it again. There is only one pawn shop in our town and I may check there tomorrow. I don't think they can get any relevant information off it other than my name and address as well as about every customer I've worked for in I don't know how many years. I may have to get the police involved. I offered a reward for the return that is more than the phone itself is probably worth at this point, but I doubt that will prove helpful. It's an android Samsung phone and unless they have that charger I suspect it's deader than a doornail at this point.
