And how did this lady know her furniture had to be dry cleaned? The tag?

If so, the tag says "consumer" information for cleaning, not professional cleaning.

You are the professional, and would more than likely wet clean it.

If a consumer uses water for spot cleaning, water stains can result if they don't get the entire area wet.

Priceless

What he probably did was use a dry cleaning solvent and then wiped with the diaper.this is the safest way if you are unsure of the type of fiber but it is not really effective if there is a good amount of soil, most things can be wet cleaned but if not sure then pass or dry clean it.

Look at the furniture; Read tags; no tags do fiber test. It is always safe to use Haiten Cotton Shampoo in a fluff; Basically use a little water in a trigger sprayer; shake till nothing but suds; use a trigger sprayer design to spray suds; apply to cloth or to electric aggitation method machine; then wipe clean with moist or dry cleaning solvent cloth.

Bob Savage got right to the heart of this. She may be reading the deck tag. That instructs the consumer how to clean. It is not meant to instruct a professional how to clean.

There is a high probability this can be cleaned using wet cleaning methods but one of the low moisture tools. Just don't over-wet.

If dry cleaning is infact what is required, you can get Bridgepoints Upholstery Dry Cleaning Prespray. Spray this on as a mist with pump-up sprayer or even trigger sprayer. Wipe in with white cotton towel dampedn ed with Dry Cleaning Prespray.

You can rinse with Furniture & Drapery Compound.

CAUTION: Dry cleaning products should be used with plenty of ventilation. They should not be used with electrical sprayer or extractor unless the device is specifically intended for use with solvents. Sparkes can ignite explosive vapors.

Spray on a Encap solution and use a white towel to wipe down. I spray an encap solution and use a orbital buffer with a terry cloth to absorb liquid dries in about 20 minutes.

Don't ever ,ever,ever,trust tags!!!

Often they are incorect and following the tags could damange the fabric.

Do you own fiber test.

Very few fabrics have to be dry cleaned.

Be the pro. Not the guy at the furniture factory that slaps on whatever tag is handy.

Yes, the deck tags are only meant for the consumer.

I remember several years ago, seeing an "S" tag on patio furniture.

Yep, it said to dry clean furniture that sat outside in the rain!

Yep, furniture cleaning is much different than carpet cleaning in that you have to more careful in your pre-testing and inspection. internal uph tools such as the drimaster are (by far) the best choice if employing a wet clean on a questionable fabric. otherwise, clean it with dry cleaning products and plenty of clean white towels.
