Pretty sure you have to tell people when you are recording them over a phone.

**curious**
Federal law permits recording a phone or in-person conversations when only ONE party involved has consented to the recording. Unless you are in California and a few other states. So, recording your incoming or outgoing calls should be legal.

Staged or not stages (i didn't listen) it is true that lots of outfits suck on the phone. Many don't even answer their phone and let it go to VM (raise your hand). Everybody always uses plumbers as an example when it comes to lead gen - no clue why. Most of the plumbers in my area are busy as hell and don't want any more calls (WTF?). Plumbers NY BTW - pretty damn hard to rank for I would have to say. "throwing up a site" that just happens to rank on it's own - doubt that one.
agree. This article wasn't about "how" it got ranked. It was about how to close jobs from phone calls. I am going to write another one about what i did that I'm assuming worked enough to rank.

If more people with a little intelligence would just do honest work the world would be better off. These businesses do not even exist!!! (Yes I looked for them) You claim that just by creating a google listing you will get tons of calls from people who after calling and not getting a response for weeks or a month have not left a bad review. You sir are a liar and a cheat.
that was not my claim. i just didn't go into detail in this post as to "how" the listing was generating phone calls since the purpose of this post was to explain why some businesses aren't turning hot leads into customers bc they are saying the wrong things.

Sale pitch coming or trying to get someone to pm him and get them to pay him????... more I think about it the recorded phone call also came from the customers side and he claims to have 50 other calls????? Even on recordered phone calls they don't think they have the phone ringing on the recording.
Hey Mac - the way it was setup was that we used a local number and forwarded that to the business number. Since it was a different number, the call was tracked and recorded. I setup this deal with the plumber ahead of time (obviously) and was charging him on a "pay per call" basis. so he knew the calls were recorded and by tracking them we could see what I was generating for him (versus whatever else he was doing).

And there's way over 50 calls since we did this for about a year.

Yes, the listing did drop from google local so I'm not doing it with this guy anymore. That's not the point of this post. I'm not some lead gen or marketing guy. I just wanted to share an experience I had to hopefully offer some advice to people out there who may find value in it

I'm sure we can all close deals over the phone or we wouldn't be in business long. Phone wagon a wagon is used to bring items from place to place, with that being said can you deliver us phone calls from our market?

no lol ... but i'm going to write a tactical post on what i did. It worked for me for a little while but I was doing it on the side and not putting any time into it and it eventually got removed from google bc it wasn't a real business (shocker... i know).

But I do know a bunch of people who are doing similar things that are working.

If you google "remodeling miami" the first result on google places is "kitchen and bath remodel of miami" and he's the 4th organic result behind HomeAdvisor and Houzz. He's doing the same thing -- it's a landing page with a tracked phone number and he "rents" out the site.

This isn't even what I do full time, i think it's fun to test new things and see what works. While doing so I noticed how these VERY hot leads (in my opinion) were going to waste and thought it was insightful.

Just curious...So how did the recorder start on the customers side? Because you can obviously hear the phone actually ringing from her side.

the way it works is that the number used is forwarded to the main business phone number. So when someone dials it (the customer), it starts recording. Then it rings to the business, they answer, and have a conversation.

The way he did the calls is about the same as what we do

at the end of every call we get a email with the recorded call as a atachment with time date phone number called and phone number calling
