I gave an estimate today on 2300 sq/ft if off white carpeting-not a problem, been there, done that. They also asked me to clean their White Cotton Sofa, Love-seat and Ottoman if which I have heard can yellow with cleaning. I have a fri-master upholstery tool I can dial in the water foe with and had planned on using no heat from the truck, not sure what to use for chemicals or how to prevent from yellowing fabric. All are 100% Cotton. Job is end of next week !

You could use a good upholstery shampoo or cotton shampoo. Use the upholstery tool for extraction only. If your unsure of how the results are going to be you can explain the risks and results of cleaning this fabric. Explain to her that you are going to test on the ottoman and after testing it you will speed dry it to revel the results. You could start the CC and then check on the ottoman after a while. If all's well then go for it. I will tell them that I don't want to clean it and then they say "If I would have known how it was going to turn out I would not have had you clean it". 100% of the time every job that I do this the client is impressed with my honesty and willingness to test clean before doing the whole job.

Piece of cake!!!! if its not to soiled pre spray with prochem fine upholstery prespray and rinse with prochem all fiber rinse, if its pretty soiled still prespray, but use prochem fine upholstery shampoo on the bad areas after you prespray, mix about 4 0z to one gallon warm water in a bucket swish it around with a horse hair brush kinda scoop the foam off the top with the horse hair brush and brush the heavily soiled areas with it and rinse at 150-200 psi do dry strokes and your done!!! good luck!!

neither the carpet or the cotton upholstery is dirty, She says she gets it cleaned every year because of the dander from (you guessed it) her white cat

Are there any feathers inside the couch???
Have you tried to see what is inside the piping??? ( I asked this becasue my overconfidence made me not inspect properly last year and i ended up recovering some cushions for a client of mine.
Is there any cat smell on the couch??
any how, any shampoo that is been made for Tahitian cotton would be appropriate to clean it safely. An all fiber rinse or 24oz of white vinegar in you 5 gallon jug will do the rinsing just fine.

I must warn you and go to the job prepared. Do not over wet cotton It will take a long time to dry and you will have great chances to get browning on it. Bring some air movers and speed dry it. Pay special attention to the piping and if you can don't get it wet clean it a t the end with a damped terry towel. I know the super experienced and know it all will tell you it is very easy and it is (in a way ) but it is easier to damage it if not guided with the proper precautions.

If there is cat ( not urine) smell in the couch boost your shampoo with sodium percarbonate ( hydrogen peroxide) and that will help you rid the smell easier without the use of other expensive products.

if she had it cleaned before. ask her if they wet cleaned it? she may know exactly what they did.
I would mist and extract and wipe with towel. use brush to agitate some upholstery pre spray on the arms. I have never had a problem cause I rinse out what I put down. period. and my vac has always worked strong so I pull out as much moisture as possible. I like to wipe furniture and put a blower on it. work your vacuum ten times more than your water trigger. You will look like your cleaning the crap out of it.

Haitian cotton cleaner, mixed up in a pail and use a hand bonnet to apply ( some like horsehair brush).
Use foam only. I don't see a problem rinsing with low moisture ( even fresh water) . If you want you can use an acid rinse!

Yes inspect, look inside a seat by opening zipper ( if possible).
Perhaps this is custom made? Just dry the shit out of it with hand tool.
Be confident , don't let them see you sweat so to speak!

Pre test clean the most discreet part of the skirt first and see what happens wrinkles yellowing ect. I tend to use micro fiber towels now instead of sponges or brushes. They clean better cause you transfer soil during agitation. Some cottons aren't a problem at all but some raw or linen s can have serous issues with hwe.
