just curious. How often should you replace your vac hose? Im maintenance minded as having something fail on a job is more expensive (and more frustrating) than just keeping up on things.

I replace the first section of solution line every two years religiously. But I dont have a schedule for replacing vac hose. I remember over the years that when I do replace the vac hose, it does make a noticable difference in suction. And here in Wisconsin, the cold winters are brutal on vac hose.

Thoughts?

it makes a difference in suction? why would that be? I have honestly never replaced my vac hose. I usually trade in vans before I even need a new vac hose. I have had my current Butler for 6 years and I've got the original hoses plus some extra. I do run 2 seperate 2" vac hoses to a devastator filter that sets right outside my van and run a single 2 inch vac hose from that into the house. That seems to give pretty great suction.

I have had to replace some because it would get soft and collapse under high heat and vacuum,it was 10+ years old. I have other hose on my truck that old or older with no problems though. It would be expensive to replace 600' of vac hose just cause.

I also use 4 to the door with devastator. I would not even consider replacing all my hose, just the hose thats most used, so we are talking 150 feet because most of my jobs use 100 feet - 2 50 foot sections to the Devastator and one lead 50 foot.

Vac hose wears over time so its not like all of a sudden you lose suction, BUT if you replace your vac hose after lets say 5 years, I guarantee you will notice a difference.

While we are on the subject, does anyone know where I can get the equivilant of Amflex Lil Better hose because Im on JBs naughty list.
