half of cost new or less????

depends on hours
Thanks, unfortunately I have no idea how many hours are on the blower. Although it is spinning and works fine.

i believe 40 hp is the smallest air cooled engine anyone makes???

but they are rated at 37hp now.....

gotta look at torque also as kholer, briggs......
i believe briggs is less torque than kholer???
can vary 5-10 torque with the same HP
especially with that 56 blower as it runs at 2800 rpm.....

my Suburu 33hp engine on my 47 blower.....
had around 60 torque........was better than the 40 hp kholer....

How long have you been using the Subaru? Does it seem to be better than a Kohler? I’ve been debating between buying a subuaru or a Honda for my machine. With the Honda I would need to downsize to a 45 blower. If I get the subuaru I could keep my 47 blower.

i love the suburu....i bought it back when it was called generac then it was taken over by suburu...

sad to say suburu discontinued selling air cooled engines.....

you will have to go with the kholer 37hp....

you will need to look at the specs but i believe it has a much better torque than the briggs......

what have you been using on your 47 blower?????

Yea 37hp would be the right call for a 47 blower

I am projecting 37 hp would underpower the 56 blower a little bit....depending on torque......

but I have never used a 56 blower?????

however if I am correct most of prochem, hydramaster....underpower their larger 5 blowers....
with only around 70% of full capacity????/

at least that is what I was told...and also doing a little research...

you should still get around 500 cfm

While we are on the subject...

In the near future Im looking to up the Judson tnt to a 47 blower, I was considering 56 but after seeing specs are near the same I think 47 would be better.

Will the 47 blower still be able to mount pretty much the same as the 45 on the Judson? Or should I plan on having to make a new blower mount?

I have a Kohler CH 1000 running a #5 blower direct drive @ 2800 rpm.
Old spec was 40hp but I guess the new spec is now 37
Plenty of torque and power

Hi, Todd, I'm using a 32.5 hp Kohler with 47 blower direct drive with zero problems

I have the same engine. The engine fires right up every morning when the engine is cold but if I try to start it when the engine is hot it floods every time and takes several minutes to start up. The engine has been this way since it was brand new. I’ve heard it’s a common problem among 40 horsepower Kohlers. Do you have the same issue?

Shoot that motor and put it out of it's misery.

Well, it’s been sitting on the bench at Interlink for 5 weeks now. I finally get it back tomorrow.
